Wow! Just wow! This book was beautifully written. It is so full of heartbreak & evil but in the end the fact that love is what remained makes it beautiful. It felt so real, I don't doubt that there are women out there that did what Vianne & Isabelle did. They are 2 brave sisters who risk everything to help make the world a better place despite being surrounded by all the horrors of WWII. It has been a long time since I cried like I did at the end of a book. I'd have to stop reading several times in the last few chapters because I was so moved. What a beautiful story!

Watched today on netflix a road movie with a difference end of the world type movie starts off slow forrest whitaker and theo james both play the leads in this movie trying to seatlle would have like to know what caused the this disaster in the first but where left no answers worth a rewatch

Following on from the end of <i>T2: Infiltrator</i>, this novel continues the story started in that novel. The infiltrator of the previous novel may have been destroyed, but she has left behind 2 clones who continue her work, while Sarah Connor recuperates in military hospital from the wounds she received destroying it.
For the first portion of the story, then, John is out on his own with Dieter von Rossbach, rather than working with his mother. This allows the character to grow and mature somewhat, while it also provides the opportunity to bring back some other faces from the film in the Sarah Connor portion of the story, most noticeably in Dr Silbermann (the psychiatrist from T1 and T2).
The novel also takes to opportunity to further explore the paradoxical timeline of the world, with one key scene in particular towards the end showing how Skynet became sentient.

So intense!
This is one of those films that you end up thinking about for days afterwards. It's so intense and submursive that it really takes you on its journey. It is so well filmed and the acting is incredible. It's a film I believe everyone should see. It was such a massive part of the Second World War which is often skipped over in history lessons.

Maybe I'm just starting to get a bit burned out on the relentless release pace of the MCU, but - for me- I feel like it's been on a bit of a downward trend since the end of the Infinity Stones Saga (with Avengers: Endgame)
I also miss the somewhat-heightened reality of the earlier Marvel movies: like the original Iron Man, say, or even The Winter Soldier.
The reason I say that?
Because this takes place, almost exclusively, in the quantum realm first mentioned in the original Ant-Man, really only being book-ended by the 'real' world.
This is also - or so I've read - the first in what is termed as Marvel Phase 5, introducing (for any who didn't make it to the end of the Loki TV show!) the next big bad, in the form of Jonathan Major's Kang the Conqueror (who steals pretty much every scene he is in here)

I loved this book. It is a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast which started a little slow, but if you think about the classic BATB story, it's somewhat slow in the beginning as well. Feyre is human and is taken to a faerie world where she meets Tamlin and works throughout the last half of the book to free him and his "village" from a curse. At the end of the book, the author tied in many elements from the beginning of the book that seemed boring and unimportant at the time, which left me amazed and wanting more.

The first in a new series, the invisible library is one I couldn't put down. I loved that it was a mystery surrounding the acquisition of my favorite thing in the world...books. I would have liked a little more backstory about the library itself in the beginning but it wasn't any real hindrance to the story. The action starts from the very beginning and the adventure continues until the end. I can't wait to read the next book and immerse myself back into this wonderful world. Highly recommended! Thanks to Penguin and First to Read for the ARC!

Really 3.5 Stars, but I feel badly rating it a 3.
I struggled to decide how I feel about this book because though it was enjoyable (eventually) it wasn't particularly well written. I actually didn't enjoy the book at first and was afraid that it was going to end up being a much lower rating. The story took a while to get going and it wasn't until we were really immersed in Otherworld that the plot became interesting.
I liked some of the characters, but I wasn't a huge fan of any of them. For me, personally, I usually need to relate to one of the characters in some way to form more of a connection to the book. Otherwise, it's just a book. It's the stories that hit you hard and you feel like you're living them with your favourite characters that make a mark. This book is not one of those stories.
In the end, I was more intrigued (and horrified) by the world of Otherworld that the authors built than the characters or the mission that they were on. I wish the various "lands" were more vividly described because I felt like there was something missing. I wanted to see more of the world than we were exposed to. I hope that there is more development of the world in the second book.
Overall, it was an interesting book but not a favourite.

I think this book is a great take on a world catastrophe event and seeing it from 2 different points of view from 2 of the most isolated places.
I felt it started off really slowly and picked up a few chapters in.
The writing is fantastic, you really feel as if your in the Arctic and space.
I loved the fact that in the end the last people alive already had a connection and they didn't know who eachother were when they connected by radio..... Its was bittersweet I think.
I do wish however that at the end of the book, when they land on earth i would have liked to know what happened to earth. That's going to bug me!!
