Andrew and Pietra (Which is a cool name, but I had to look up how to say it!) is a classic unrequired love/friends to lovers’ type storyline that was engaging, heartfelt, and had some deep thought stirring moments. I enjoyed their banter back and forth, Andrews's culture was fascinating, and I truly loved Pietra’s patience with Andrew through everything. It was a good culturally diverse book that kept me interested and I did not put it down until I finished!
I loved all the unique stories and the imaginary British accents in my head (Sigh..). The stories are a mix of mystery, laughter, intrigue, and faith. I truly enjoyed reading this mix of stories; plus I found some new to me authors to read! The characters in each story were engaging and I really didn't want to say goodbye to them. I loved the lessons that the characters learned and thought that they were well thought out and grew as the story progressed.
I definitely recommend reading this book (or books as its 9 different stories) at the next opportunity. I give them a 4 out of 5 stars for the diversity, the creative characters, and for giving me some truly happy smiles.
*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

First published in 1968, I believe.
As such, it's of a very different time than today.
It's also undoubtedly a strange amalgam of science fiction (they're on a different planet, people!) and fantasy, leaning - I felt - more towards the latter than the former.
It also has, I believe, a strong following of people who thoroughly enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, I'm not one of them, finding it to be dull, boring and (mostly) bland, despite the initially intriguing setting. It also doesn't help that I didn't find any of the main characters to be all that interesting or even engaging - a cardinal sin, in my opinion. Characters don't necessarily have to be 'good' (see: Marvel's 'Loki'), but they do need to hold your attention!
Sorry, Ms McCaffrey - this just didn't really work for me.

Comes across a bit like a mid-table Stephen King novel, or possibly just a very glossy soap opera with a guest appearance by Giant Space Monster Dogorah. Fairly engaging stuff, though unlikely to feel terribly original to the clued-up viewer; passes the time nicely without demanding your full attention. Avoids too many explanations (they're clearly hoping for a second season), which could be irritating, but the end-of-series cliffhanger is okay.
