I've always loved the movie and have been curious to read the book. It was MUCH shorter than I had expected but the movie stayed true to the story and it was easy to recall the visuals for each scene. However, the book didn't seem as engaging or captivating as the movie and I didn't really get a sense of the characters.

Beautifully crafted game visually. From the art on the boards and cards to the miniatures. (0 more)
Possibly didn't need most of the miniatures..... (0 more)
The Grimm Forest is a stunning game for so of the family, and is a great introduction to the hobby for new board gamers as well as an engaging enough experience for established gamers looking for some light fun.

Heartily recommend.

I've now read this book twice in the course of 2-3 months, which is something I never do. The second time around I found it just as hard to put down. I can't wait until the next book to see if this story remains as engaging. This book is my favorite read of the past year or two by far.

A mix of clichés from a couple different genres that still somehow manages to be highly engaging. It's unlikely it will ever be considered a classic, but it will certainly make for a great summer beach read. I can't say I had the ending figured out either, which is good for any mystery. Be forewarned that it is a bit of a downer.

I studied history in undergrad, so every once in a while, I need to go on a history book reading binge.
This most recent Philbrick book examines the complicated nature of the relationship between the French military leadership, and the struggling Continental army, lead by Washington. There were definitely aspects that I hadn't considered before, and it made for an engaging read.

I was pretty skeptical about this book because it had such a hype around it. It started off pretty slow, I was having a hard time engaging with the characters until Day Four of Caraval - I will tell you, I was unable to put the book down after that and finished it mere hours later. I have since pre-ordered the sequel.

Probably not the film I should be watching during a pandemic . Some of it reminded me of scenes from my local supermarket at the moment. It's not a bad film overall, the action is plentiful and Brad Pitt makes for an engaging lead. Unfortunately the ending is a bit anticlimactic and low key considering the globe trotting nature of most the film.
