Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated One Epic Night (Hearts, #5.5) in Books
Jan 8, 2021
This one follows Trevor Cross, in what I assume is not long after the previous book, Thief of Hearts, as he urges his best friend, Reya, to spend a night out doing stuff neither of them has ever done before. They eat in a dark restaurant and go to an illegal rave as well as confessing things to each other that leads to it being one epic night.
I can't wait to read Trev and Rey's complete story in book 6, Hearts on Air!

WHOA! That was one heck of an epic tale. it was nice to see everything come full circle. A perfect bridge between films, it reveals small things relevant to the second film while hinting at the bigger picture. My one and only problem was the addition of the lesbian blacksmiths, they were just kind of there, like "Hey representation" and when I thought they were going to help resolve the conflict it was Olaf who helped instead.
Still, it was an immensely enjoyable book.

CHILLFILTR (46 KP) rated Silver & Gold by Nikhil D'souza in Music

You put that British-sounding electric guitar against some strings and everyone will cry The Verve. But more, it's got that command of something we are all trying to get to. The delivery is epic and stadium-worthy. It could almost be an extension of the falsetto facility we remember from Jeff Buckley. You be the judge.
Nikhil D’Souza was born in Mumbai and his new release ‘Silver And Gold’ is distributed through Warner Music. One thing is for sure: this production is spot-on.

Pleasantly surprised by this horror series. I thought the trailer was a little tacky (the preview you get on netflix) but I was hooked from the first episode.
The most epic thing about this series is the hunt for the hidden ghosts. we spotted so many, purely because we are paranoid at horror series haha. But even so, it added to the intensity and anxieties of the episodes and was masterfully done. It is nice for anything horror to not rely on stupid jump scares.

Bleak but marvelous
Four hour Chinese epic. From the reviews which claimed it was boring arthouse I expected a non sensicle four hour delve into weirdness. Its not art house at all (well apart from the ending), instead it is a bleak walk through an impoverished inner Chinese city, with the space in the film creating a feel of claustrophobia as each of the characters lives start closing in on them. The theme really is of blame and understanding the difference and ownership of responsibility.

Rolling Stone's 409th greatest album of all time
This album should have been far higher up the RS list in my view. It may be that I was made to listen to it a lot growing up, but I still listen to it a lot these days. So many cracking songs on here, from the title track to People Are Strange (which will always remind me of @The Lost Boys (1987) ) to Love Me Two Times to the epic closer When The Music's Over.
