A step out my comfort zone but a very good one!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Cian is sent on a journey to find out who or what is causing all the deaths in his village.
I really enjoyed this! It's a step out my comfort zone, and a very good one at that.
I'd class it as high fantasy. Very Tolkien-esque, with an epic journey, lives at stake, elves, dwarves, centsaurs, sea serpents on the rampage and a madman, messing with dark blood magic.
Throw in a slow burn sweet romance, between Cian and his guide, Thanyon, and you've got a near perfect book!
Only Cian gets a say, though, and at points, he had a lot to say.
But a fabulous read.

A space Titanic
This is basically Titanic set in space, albeit a much better film than Titanic will ever be.
Let's get it straight, this is not a full blown sci-fi epic. This is a romantic love story set in space, with some sci-fi elements thrown in. As long as you can accept that, then this is a really good film. Yes the romance part of the story is pretty predictable, but for me this didn't matter due to the sheer likeability and chemistry between Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. They did get a great job of holding a film virtually all on their own, although Michael Sheen was a delight in all of his scenes too. The special effects too were very impressive and this is definitely one of the better films I saw in the new year.

Just Epic :)
[edit]
I loved everything about this book, Watney's sense of humour is golden and I love how he never reacts to a situation like you would expect a normal person to. Instead of breaking down and being dramatic (not every human reacts like this!!) he just accepts that s**t happens and moves on, that's a pretty admirable trate in a person. Not only did I enjoy the way the story was told through his logs but also through different points of view, I also enjoyed how incredibly scientific the book was, it's all reasonably accurate science too which is refreshing, most sci fi books drift into the realm of impossibly and become outright ridiculous but this kept the science pretty on point which is impressive. If you're a space nerd with a dry sense of humour (like me) I'd highly recommend reading this, it's an amazing book :)

Before you even read the book the cover will draw you in! Look at that thing of beauty.
The book begins in such a way that you are immediately drawn in and need to know what will happen next. I was not expecting the twists to start in the first chapters.
The book is told from alternating points of view. These views are 1000 years apart but as you get through the book the similarities start to show up. By the time you are done you can see the bigger picture and just how massive the world building is.
This is a not to be missed series that will take you on an adventure filled with drama, romance, and magic. Come fall in love with these characters just as I did.
This book is perfect for fans of epic world's, strong female leads, and romance that will keep you swooning

Beautifully written
This is a beautifully written novel from multiple point of views. There's Ellis, a broody young man and Michael, a fun, quirky, lovable chap. There's the most perfect love affair that lasts a brief moment. Then there's Annie, with a bit of Ellis's nature and a bit of Michael's. She should have come between Ellis and Michael but she just fits, and the two become three. I won't give too much away, but I cried, laughed, and was taken on an epic journey. I loved this book. If I had to pick a little niggling fault, it was the ending. I found the POV a little confusing. I wasn't sure who was taking and had to read it a couple of times. Otherwise, amazing. I'll be buying more books from this author.

Everyone brought together
Contains spoilers, click to show
A movie that we have all been been waiting for. All heroes we have seen so far, come together to face the galaxies biggest threat. Thanos finally leaves his throne to collect stones which his generals have been incapable of retrieving.
Considering that if he had got up in the first place he would have done this along time ago and accomplished his goal. Any how, the movie portrays the heroes compiling a plan to stop Thanos by hiding the stones as best they can. It also shows that Thanos has some of the most powerful generals in reserve. I mean why not unleash them from the start?
So a flimsy plan, a good chance of survival, an epic fight. What more could you want?
Now here’s to hoping that they continue this on with the X-Men vs the Avengers

Fairy Tale: True Loves Kiss
Maleficent- is a movie that people are mix about. Some people hate it, some people love it. For me i like it. Its a different take on the oringal source materal but with the same elements.
The plot: As a beautiful young woman of pure heart, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) has an idyllic life in a forest kingdom. When an invading army threatens the land, Maleficent rises up to become its fiercest protector. However, a terrible betrayal hardens her heart and twists her into a creature bent on revenge. She engages in an epic battle with the invading king's successor, then curses his newborn daughter, Aurora -- realizing only later that the child holds the key to peace in the kingdom.
Angelina Jolie is really good as Maleficent and Elle Fanning is really good as Aurora.
It is a underrated movie and should be watched.
