Toren Daniels is a man with two sides: good.....and evil. I never really thought of my own life as having a good side and an evil side, until Toren's story came to life for me. The anger, the pain, the not knowing what happened and the why of it all.....those are all things that Toren struggles with, and he seeks out to remedy that. Those are things that we, as everyday human beings, struggle with. It's an emotional roller coaster ride for certain as the reader gets to follow Toren through his life and see how he deals with with doing right and wrong, good or evil.
This ended up, in my honest opinion, a 4 star read. It's a story that will not only entertain you after you give it a chance, but it's a story that will twist you up and make you think, really, really think about the meaning of good versus evil, and the way the Lord helps to deal with those. I definitely will be sharing this book with other Christian fiction fans! Mr. Rubart, hats off to you for creating this story full of meaning and truth.

Lowri Catryn (229 KP) rated Killing Eve - Season 1 in TV

I do love Sandra Oh as I had previously seen her work in Grey's Anatomy, so I was very excited to watch her in this. Again, to see her character become obsessed with her career (as in Grey's) gave her some continuation as an actress. However she surprised me when she was able to show a loving side towards Villanelle, emotions and affections that she did not perhaps show towards her husband.
As weird as it was I found myself wishing that the Good would fall in love with the evil vice versa and that the evil would be transformed into good because of the influence.
We were able to view amazing scenery in which different scenes and episodes were filmed.
What is also fascinating and exciting that some of the kills in the series are based of real life assassinations and murders, which I read up on today! They were able to capture these brilliantly.

Rachel King (13 KP) rated If God, Why Evil?: A New Way to Think about the Question in Books
Feb 11, 2019
I have read other books in the realm of Christian Apologetics, but nothing quite so detailed on a single topic as this book. While I was previously familiar with the arguments regarding the problem of evil, this book taught me why those arguments either work or don't work. Without getting into the specifics of what each argument entailed, I can safely say that Geisler did a thorough job of laying to rest the title question and addressing every possible side.
This book would be an excellent addition to any theology book collection.
Awix (3310 KP) rated Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965) in Movies
Feb 22, 2018
Almost wholly mad; still quite entertaining, but the lack of actual monster action (the three big beasts get very little screen-time) is inevitably quite disappointing. Rattling pace makes up for a lot of the film's flaws, and the basic idea - aliens try to conquer the world using monsters - would be endlessly recycled in future proper Godzilla films. Easy to dismiss this movie as quaintly dated 60s tosh, but surely a film where the forces of evil are driven off by the power of rape alarms has something to say to the #time's up generation.
Alina Diaconescu (2 KP) rated Six of Crows in Books

It follows the story of a crew hired to kidnap the creator of a very powerful and very dangerous drug from a fortress that's never been breached before.
Kaz, the leader of the crew, selects five people, each with a particular set of skills designed for completing this impossible heist.
I liked the complexity of the characters, the way they all have they're background stories and different relation with the people in the crew, which influences every action and the way they react to the others.
I also enjoyed the fact that this is not your usual superhero story where good wins over evil. Instead the powers come with a lot of complications and internal struggles and the line between good and evil is blurred out.
Definitely recommend this book!!
