"Horrors and desire, death and lust go hand in hand in Onibaba and Kuroneko, a perverse, sweaty double bill from Kaneto Shindo. I saw these two films at age ten, and they did some serious damage to my psyche. Both are perfect fables rooted in Japanese folklore but distinctly modern in their approach to violence and sexuality. As exuberant and exquisite as a netsuke carving, these atmospheric jewels show mankind trapped in a cosmically evil world. The tales seem to fit together so perfectly that they fuse into one as time goes by. Onibaba and Kuroneko make a perfect double bill for the second circle of hell."

"Easily, without hesitation, the most difficult, and disturbing movie I’ve ever seen. I knew after I watched it a second time (mostly to verify the feelings it instilled in me the night before when I initially watched it) that that would be the last time I ever saw it. In a culture crammed with “shocksploitation” movies that are really pornographic in their violence and depravity but empty of any symbolism or real meaning (Human Centipede anyone?), Salo is as bleak and depressing a movie for it’s “Banality of Evil” truth that permeates every moment. There’s no escape. This is the world we’ve created for ourselves."

This remake of the 1989 version, changed a lot from the oringal version.

Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discover a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbour Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.

Instead of the son dying, now its their daugther who dies. The ending is soo scary, the cast is great. Overall its a great remake to a already great oringal fim.

I'm a big fan of the conjuring universe and was looking forward to seeing this.I enjoyed it in parts but it could and should have been so much better.

The Warren's daughter Judy is the main focus of this film,focusing on her abilities which are similar to her mothers.The scares are few and far between,the 2 teenage girls are annoying and entirely predictable in their meddling with the evil objects.The film is at it's best when the Warren's themselves are in it (beginning and end of the movie)

Hope the next entry into this series is The Conjuring 3.
