Surprisingly faithful BBC adaptation of the famous story has definite merits, but also perhaps shows why most people don't stick so close to the text. Young solicitor Harker goes off to Transylvania to close a deal with the engimatic Count Dracula; you can probably guess the rest.
Scores very highly for its acting - Frank Finlay is a charismatic Van Helsing and Louis Jourdan a playfully evil Dracula - and also for its atmosphere, even with BBC TV production restraints (videotaped interiors, some rather weird special effects). For an adaptation to stick quite so close to the book is very nearly exceptional, too - Savory makes Lucy and Mina sisters, combines Arthur and Quincey into one character, and cuts down the final act, but that's about it. The drawback to this, of course, is that after the first act Dracula gets relatively little screen-time and even less dialogue, and it does drag on just a tiny bit. Nevertheless, its fidelity and seriousness mean that this is certainly among the top echelon of Draculas in any medium.

The ultimate stoner movie - rivaled only by 𝘛𝘦𝘥 and 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘥 & 𝘒𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘳 𝘌𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘰 𝘉𝘢𝘺. Just so precisely captures that essence of getting high with your buddies, and then ingeniously represents it through these literal Chaotic Good, Chaotic Neutral, and Chaotic Evil trio of leads - played to (unsurprising) perfection by Franco, Rogen, and McBride respectively. The comedic value earned in each scene by transitioning from shooting the shit about nonsensical high musings abruptly into blunt violence cannot be understated - those fights are so side-splitting. And I'll be damned but the action... actually looks like action! Further proof that these are at their best when made by people who regularly get blazed as hell. Two hours straight of hilarious Rogen and co. histrionics, general destruction and chaos which routinely draw blood, and it ends with a 15 minute long shootout + fistfight combo in a pot farm. Just spectacular, as funny during its low-key moments as it is when it goes off the rails. Naturally, Amber Heard is the only major weak point.

Into the fire ( Caitlin Chronicles book 2)
By Michael Anderle and Daniel Wilcocks
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
Caitlin may have freed her town from evil, but the Governor who oppressed them all is still on the loose.
Now, Caitlin and her merry band of Revolutionaries take to the Mad-infested woods to hunt the Governor down and deliver revenge before he can do any further damage.
But, when they arrive at a town bound under the spell of a strange group known as "The Firestarters", Caitlin starts to realize that this could be a lot more difficult than planned.
It's time for Caitlin to jump out of the frying pan, and into the fire....
I really enjoyed reading this second book in the series it had more depth than the first although I enjoyed that one too! The characters are developing well and I love the dynamic between Caitlin, maryanne and Kain. Looking forward to the next challenge and possibly meeting the pack!

I love all these characters, their humor is just awesome. But I'm starting to get extremely irritated. When the series began, I immediately decided I didn't want Jayne and Tony to end up falling in love - that's just too cliche. Then they met Spike. Even then, I felt like it was too easy, so I held out for another love interest. When Jayne suddenly started paying attention to Chase, I was all for it, even though I felt like she would end up falling for Ben (I'm a huge sucker for a hate-turned-to-love story). Now, Ben's being a douche and there's no doubt in my mind he's evil, even if his intentions aren't. And, honestly, I'm getting upset with all the potential love interests going around. I still want her to end up with Chase or Ben, but it looks like she'll be with Spike, at least until she ends up in the Overworld. I suppose I'll just have to wait until the very end, I guess.

Sick, twisted... Great
1. Martyrs. A sick depraved film, in other words, it was great! Those French bastards strike again! I love that it had an intro from the director apologizing and thanking you for watching his film. From where it begins to where it ends it one crazy fun filled adventure... About a girl, Lucie who escapes the clutches of an evil couple that likes to torture young women, from there she meets Anna, and become very close friends, 15 years pass, and Lucie has tracked down the couple who tortured her and well, you can guess... Lucie also hallucinates just a tad in the form of a woman who was also being held captive... From that point on things get just a little nuts, in a totally good way of course!! What a way to end the countdown, with a pretty sweet sick movie... Acting was superb, felt everything was real, as nasty as it was lol!! But if sick n twisted is your game, and I bet it is, check it out!!! Filmbufftim on FB.

The original beginning of the Dark Universe
In the early 2000s we saw a drop in great movies, even good ones and was left with the occasional sleeper hit and the obvious box office hits.
In 2004 universal released 'Van Helsing', with pretty decent promoting, and some neat casting with rising stars Hugh Jackman & Kate Beckinsale at the helm - with Richard Roxburgh as Dracula (also Robbie Coltrane as Mr Hyde)
The Story:
Van Helsing is on a mission from God, to rid evil from the world. After a 'paris job' goes wrong, Helsing returns to the Vatican to be briefed on this next assignment which sees helsing and his ally and friar named carl heading to Transylvania, to hunt down and kill count Dracula.
Joining forces with a Gypsy Princess named Anna who also seeks to kill Dracula in order to break her family's curse before her bloodline ends allowing her family to enter the kindom of heaven.
