FRICK I LOVE THIS SERIES! I think I maybe preferred The Diviners a little bit more but this one was still EXCELLENT! I'm so tempted to just launch straight into until the devil breaks you now but I'm going to give it a rest for a while but I still need more of my beloved little divining gang who I love so much. I even love Evie now! Who knew all it would take was enemies to lovers and fake dating tropes, I really am that basic! I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS

Fairly run of the mill Hallmark Christmas movie made more enjoyable by the presence of Luke MacFarlane (Brothers & Sisters), who elevates everything he touches. A pianist is forced to celebrate the holidays with her family, where she reunites with her ex (a cellist), who is directing a Christmas concert at "the Chateau." Lovely music and excellent inclusion of older actors as various musicians. Patterson and MacFarlane make a good couple, no one is forced to give up their career (gasp), and there's some real and not forced emotion. Worthwhile entry in the 2020 slate.

Pain and Glory (2019)
Pain and Glory (2019)
2019 | Drama

"When I first watched “Pain and Glory” it called to mind the work of Federico Fellini and Ingmar Bergman, who, like Pedro Almodovar, continuously displayed their ability to fuse their own lives and art, taking elements from their personal experiences and creating a world with rich and complicated characters. Nowhere has Almodovar’s talent as a director been put to such excellent use as in “Pain and Glory.” Clearly his most personal and best film to date, it is a contemplative triumph, rich and elegant yet intimate and subtle…"

Seven has become totally kick-ass awesome!
Bit frustrating in places (0 more)
I was a bit dubious to begin with, because Picard is such an iconic character and one of my absolute favourites. I didn't want that to be spoiled, luckily I was not disappointed.

Some of the things happening in the series seriously frustrated me - some of the pacing, things that happened with certain characters (Hugh!) and such.

However, despite it being an utter emotional rollercoaster, overall I think the series was excellent!

Excellent detective
The death of a woman in a bath tub starts the story off and it unravels from then. The secrets really dont stay buried.

Kim Stone is a phenomenal detective, very believable and this first case really hits home. The plot is dark and twisted, it has you on tenter hooks wondering who done it throughout. The list of suspects is long but the writing enables you to follow along well.

Really didnt see the twist at the end after all the drama.
