Bostonian916 (449 KP) rated The Catcher Was a Spy (2018) in Movies

Very interesting (and excellent) cast. Paul Rudd, Paul Giamatti, Jeff Daniels, and Guy Pierce all step outside their general wheel houses and bring together a wonderful performance about a true chain of events that unfolded during World War II.
As a Red Sox fan I had a general idea of the story surrounding Moe Berg, but I was enlightened about several different elements of the story by the movie and even more so I was driven to do additional research and found out even more information about this unheralded American Hero.
If you're looking for an action romp this isn't where you'll find it. This is a movie that will capture your imagination and you will almost forget that this is all based on a true story.

Likeable Characters
Excellent TV Series

Hemlock Grove is about a family of Upirs (vampires), a werewolves and witches, all trying to keep their identities hidden from the rest of the town. Each season has a different ‘story’: mainly murders.
I watched Hemlock Grove not really knowing what is was about, therefore, it didn’t have my full attention to begin with. However, after the first couple of episodes, I was completely hooked and loved it so much.
My only problem is that they kill off all the best characters; a couple of my favourites were killed off.
Overall, I 100% recommend this show to anyone with access to it.*
*It can be found on Netflix (UK, don’t know about other countries).

Dont Say Her Name
Dead Silence- is a really good psychological horror mystery and the twist at the end was out of nowhere and i had to watch it again cause it was that good. James Wan and Leigh Whannell did a excellent job with this film.
The plot: After his wife meets a grisly end, Jamie Ashen (Ryan Kwanten) returns to their creepy hometown of Ravens Fair to unravel the mystery of her murder. Once there, he discovers the legend of Mary Shaw (Joan Heney), a murdered ventriloquist whose eerie presence still looms over the town. As he desperately digs for answers, Jamie encounters the curse that took his wife's life and threatens his own.
I highly recordmend it.

If you've seen the the movie quarantine this is the better orignal Spanish version which is way better version i thought the American version was okay but I wanted to see this version for a long time.
Manuela velasco plays a tv reporter who is filming a fire crew on call out to an incident at a apartment building when all hell breaks loose. For me Manuela is excellent as the reporter also a real life reporter in real life. The rest of the cast are good the make up so realistic. The movie had me on the edge of my seat thru out the 70 mins runtime. Sometime maybe I should watch the American remake again

Hazel (2934 KP) rated Mummy's Little Secret in Books

With its engrossing story line and excellent characters, this is a good psychological thriller that had me guessing until the end.
This absorbing and compelling story is told from the "before" and the "now" perspectives with the "before" being told by Jess and Morag and the "now" from the senior investigating officer, DI Mike Ferry. You would think this would be confusing but not in the slightest; what it does do is provide layers of mystery until it all comes together.
I haven't read anything by M.A. Hunter before but if this is anything to go by, I will certainly be looking out for more.
Thanks go to HarperCollins Publishers / One More Chapter and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest, unbiased and unedited review.

Matthew Krueger (10051 KP) rated Misery (1990) in Movies
Sep 2, 2019
Punishment and Toture
Misery- is one of my favorite Stephen King Novel's turned into a movie. James Caan and Kathy Bates are perfect in this movie. Its twisted, horrorfying, suspenseful, mysterious and more.
After a serious car crash, novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) is rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), who claims to be his biggest fan. Annie brings him to her remote cabin to recover, where her obsession takes a dark turn when she discovers Sheldon is killing off her favorite character from his novels. As Sheldon devises plans for escape, Annie grows increasingly controlling, even violent, as she forces the author to shape his writing to suit her twisted fantasies.
I would highly reccordmend watching this movie. It is a excellent movie.
