An epic rambling cinematic adventure and a gem that is filled with humor and amazing moments... my favorite Coen brothers film.
I just love this movie.... George Clooney as the smooth and fast talking pretty boy... and John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson. I don't think there is a performance that falls short of excellent from the entire cast. Even the blind Radio Station Man. The soundtrack alone gets played a lot on my iPod. I love the old timey feel and the great rhythm. It's so damn catchy. The whole thing feels like an epic goofy journey and it's inspired by Homer, so you know it's good. For added goodness, here's some alternate movie posters...

Too many B rated horror flicks. (0 more)
Nifty Netflix.
My Netflix experience has been so good, we shut our cable off and use Netflix and Amazon as our source of entertainment. I love the fact that I can binge watch different types of genres when it comes to tv shows. The movie selection is very wide span as well and my only complaint is there is entirely too many b- rated horror flicks. Otherwise I have nothing but good to say about Netflix. The app is on my phone as well for any on the go entertainment I need while running on the treadmill or sitting in a doctors waiting room. Thumbs up to Netflix.

Downsizing (2017)
Downsizing (2017)
2017 | Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi
The idea behind this film (in order to save the world from mankind's expansion and overuse of resources, Norwegian scientists master the science of shrinking, and with humans being a fraction of their size the planet can start to recover) was excellent. However this did not translate into a good film. Matt Damon tries his best to portray the man looking for a new start post-downsizing, adding humour and charm, but is not enough to carry a script that just didn't know what it wanted to do.
While the film managed to show that some facets of humanity will still carry on post-shrinking (we need working class people to run the utopia so we have tiny shanty towns) and add an element of satire, it was not a cohesive film.

Fantastic Research
Mysteries and the paranormal from around the world, from Dyatlov Pass and the Bloop to the Money Pit and the Black Monk of Pontefract. Scott and Forrest discuss the whole case, with excellent research support from the Astonishing Research Corps, and all of the possible explanations, from the very sensible to the utterly outlandish, without being judgemental, but with a healthy dose of scepticism. It can feel a bit like listening in on a conversation between two old friends, talking about the weird and wonderful backed up by a library of esoteric knowledge. With the research corps including astrophysicists and professional researchers, you can be confident that any topic has been thoroughly investigated from all angles.
A fascinating podcast, great to listen to for sceptics and believers alike.

About as good as the first
If you enjoyed the first movie, you're more than likely to enjoy the sequel, I went in excited but sceptical, the first Deadpool film was so unique and original, I didn't think that they could pull off a sequel and have it get even close to the same quality. I was pleasantly surprised. This movie if full of laughs, there was a bigger but at then the original so there are more locations, but it doesn't take away from the charm. I'd say the only downside to the film would be the repeated jokes, there were too many that were in the first movie that were just repeated. Overall I'd say there was a good story, excellent action scenes, hilariously funny and it"s just a solid good movie .

Miss Charlotte Wilson believes that God has brought her the perfect man to marry, Mr. Hamilton Beckett. But is he truly the gentleman of her dreams? Charlotte has devised a flawless scheme to snatch up the perfect husband. But does she have her sights set on the wrong man?

My review of this novella is short because I don't want to give away too many spoilers. I enjoyed reading this short prequel to Jen Turano's series Ladies of Distinction. It is light and full of humor! An excellent start to this series and I can not wait to read the first book, A Change of Fortune. Jen Turano has quickly become one of my favorite authors. After a Fashion is by far one of my favorite books that I have read this year.

The Front Runner (2018)
The Front Runner (2018)
2018 | Biography, Drama
The Front Runner is a tricky one to sum up. We've got some excellent acting talent giving solid performances but *shrugs shoulders* it's just another average story. Perhaps it holds more weight with an American audience.

Much like Colette this one felt very long, but that feeling hit much earlier into the screening. I wasn't bored, but there was a lot of this film. I'm not even sure that taking anything out would improve my feelings about it.

I could honestly finish my review there, I made no notes at all. There was nothing that made this film stand out above anything else in this genre. It's a well made film about an average story, and that's its problem.

What you should do

It's a good film but it can definitely wait until it's streaming.

The Legend
Robin Hood- rewatching this movie, i loved it. I love the charcters, the plot, the music, everything about it i love it. The action, the comedy, the adventure, the suspense, the thrills, so excellent, so great.

The Plot: An amiable rooster called Alan-a-Dale (Roger Miller) tells stories and sings songs of the heroic Robin Hood (Brian Bedford) and his trusty sidekick, Little John (Phil Harris), in this animated animal-themed adaptation of the legendary story. When evil Prince John (Peter Ustinov) deputizes the Sheriff of Nottingham (Pat Buttram) to collect unreasonable taxes from the animals of Sherwood Forest, Robin, Little John and the other merry men wage a lighthearted battle against their evil foes.

Such a classic, if you havent watch it, then go and watch it.

Excellent
Stephen Leather has done it again! What? you may ask - written another brilliant Dan "Spider" Shepherd book that's what!

I admit that I am a fan and reading an instalment in the turbulent life of Spider is like putting on a pair of comfy shoes but don't for one minute think reading one of these books is easy and boring, far from it - you need to keep your wits about you as you will be in for a bumpy ride.

With fantastic characters, a very relevant and plausible story-line and twists and turns, this is one book you won't want to miss but that ending ... oh Mr Leather, why? I almost cried!

My thanks to Hodder & Stoughton via NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.

GUARDING BLOODLINES is the second book in The Princeton Allegiant series. We reunite with the characters we met in book one, and finally, learn more about the elusive Julianna. After 300 years of running from Loren, she is here to stay, no matter what that may bring.

I enjoyed this one much more than book one, although I enjoyed that one too. I think Ms Garland's writing has improved tremendously, and there is such an eye to detail, it improves the whole story. The world-building is excellent and character growth remains true to the individual.

The overall arc is still in place and more information is given throughout the book, leaving you wanting more. Personally, I can't wait to read book three, and four, and you get the idea.

Definitely recommended by me!
