In the Shadow of the Moon (2019)
In the Shadow of the Moon (2019)
2019 | Thriller
It's getting harder and harder to find anything that resembles a new and fresh idea in Hollywood these days. In the Shadow of the Moon definitely fits that bill.

There are loose ends added throughout the film right until the end that are all wrapped up quite beautifully in the final moments. There are excellent scenes and story arcs that occur regularly and allow the viewer to become completely engrossed in the mental twinings of the main protagonist. Interestingly, the movie ultimately ends up stretching the definition of the word protagonist and reminds us that we are sometimes looking at more than one, although they appear to be on opposite sides of the storyline.

Definitely give this a go. It's a Netflix original (one of the best I've seen).

Dripping Nightmares
Dark Water- is a good movie. Note I havent seen the oringal movie. I have only seen the remake which this is. Jennifer Connelly does a excellent job in this film.

The Plot: Dahlia (Jennifer Connelly) wants to move away from her ex-husband, Kyle (Dougray Scott), and take her daughter, Ceci (Ariel Gade), with her. Relocating to a dreary tower block, Dahlia and Ceci discover eerie, dark water leaking through the ceiling of their new apartment. Dahlia petitions the supervisor (Pete Postlethwaite) and the building's owner (John C. Reilly) to fix the leak, yet it only gets worse. Now having nightmares about the dripping, Dahlia is
driven to confront the problem herself.

Like i said ive not seen the oringal only this adaptation. Its still a good movie.

Brian A. Metcalf certainly has a look to his films and that goes for the direction as well, I really enjoy his style of shooting and what he brings out of the cast and in particular, when Metcalf and Nicholas work together in productions they produce something worth watching and Adverse is no exception. There are some great moments from cinematographer Derrick Cohan, look out for a scene on the rooftop at night it looks fantastic.

Adverse is a film that has some excellent surprises throughout the film, it can be emotional at times with some of the flashbacks and brutal at others with some of the action sequences that aren’t afraid to throw some of the red stuff about. This is certainly a film worth checking out.
