Sunk it's claws in from the first episode and never let go.
Grimm was such a unique and fun idea that when I first heard about it I just knew that not only was I going to watch but that I was going to love it and oh boy was I right,

Some of my favorite things are fairy tales and cop shows and Grimm finds such a perfect balance between the two that I stood no chance at all but to fall instantly in love.

And the fact that they take not only from fairy tales but from myths from all over the world just help to set the show apart.

Another fantastic addition to some wonderfully reimagined fairy tales. The author does a beautiful job weaving the classic story of Mulan in a Lituanian world. It also gives us a look at two of the youngest members of the Duke of Hagenheims family.
Throughout each book another fairytale unfolds and one of the Dukes children is a central part. I enjoy seeing what happened to the older children now married and how we receive a glimpse of their furtures through these books.
As always it is a well done version of Mulan that captures the soul of a warrior. A must read for fans of romance, fairy tales, and Melanie Dickerson's stories.

After a rather slow start, this definitely picked up! However, I did rather like the slow build up - it really built up the main character, Alice. Alice and her mother, Ella, are pretty much ‘on the run’ from Ella’s mother, and some unseen ‘bad luck’. The bad luck is something that Alice could never imagine. I loved the parts in the Hazel Wood, and I’m intrigued to see how the second book in the series will potentially revisit The Hinterland.
I’m a sucker for grown up fairy tales (because I’m pretty sure all original fairy tales were at med at grown ups, and not children at all!) and this did it for me.

This is a great book. Although the target audience is at 10 or so, all ages can enjoy this book. When I first read this I just thought it would be one of those books that just dumbed things down and made fun of fairy tales. I was half right. It does make fun of fairy tales however it doesn't dumb any one down -too much, the princesses and princes can get a little tedious abet also funny-to make the main character look smart. Mostly, the villains vastly underestimate Cimorene. I have to say her common sense approach is a welcome change. Things don't just happen to her she makes them happen.

Really good Plot and written Well (0 more)
Gimm Woods is a good book. It tells the story somewhat of the fairy tales. Counselors come to help with children that are coming for summer camp. There are few kids coming for some fun. You and many people and kids know what the fairy tales are like now.

In Grimm Woods, you will find out, what happens in some fairy tales. There are twist and turns and surprises throughout the book. I think it is a good book. What I like about it is it keeps you guessing who and why things are happening. There are crimes that happen throughout the book. Some counselors body shows up.

There is a dark ending to the children stories that you once thought you knew. I was surprised by this when two counselors put on a play for summer camp children. D. Melhoff does a good job on this book. I would though think that parents would take cautiously and only allow their children to read this book if they are 15 plus and older. I will let parents decide for themselves.

I adored this short story and the cover is incredible! I love fairy tales and legends so this was well and truly perfect for my style.

Such stunning, vivid imagery. It reminded me of Gaiman's writing throughout, beautiful and terrifying all at the same time.

Honeycomb by Joanne Harris is a collection of short fairy tales that are all connected by way of the Lacewing King so that a bigger picture of this world is built. The Lacewing King is a cruel and selfish ruler, as are many of the Kings and Queens of the Silken Folk. However the Lacewing King begins to learn that there are consequences to his actions.

I loved these stories. I’m a huge fan of fairytales, myths and legends - they’re most definitely not just stories for children, as these dark and often disturbing stories prove. In fact, these short tales are just like the original fairy tales, in that people are tricked, driven to madness and die (but not ALL the time!).

The seemingly separate stories gives the reader more insight to the world of the Silken Folk, and the overarching story of the Lacewing King was just perfection. The beautiful artwork by Charles Vess really does make this a very special book, and I’m going to be sad to see it go back to the library!

I’d highly recommend this wonderful book.

I loved this show which has just ended after 7 series. If you missed it make sure you catch it. Loosely based on Grimm fairy tales. A cop discovers his special ability that reveals the truth about some of the people in his town. A good mix of action mystery and horror.
