David gemmell has always been my favourite heroic fantasy author, especially his Rigante series. I found this book rather slow moving, far fetched and hard to get into. Barring all that I did enjoy once it got going,although maybe wouldnt reccomend this one as much as some of his others.

"This is Terry Gilliam’s classic—his best film. The music, the visuals, the fantasy, the dark surrealism. It all works to make a haunting masterpiece. A bit of trivia: the hero’s boss, H. Kurtzman, is named after Harvey Kurtzman, the originator of Mad magazine, and Terry’s boss at Help magazine."
