Queer representation in the young adult book world has improved in recent years as authors and stories have focused on more than just the coming out process, which while an important milestone, isn’t a defining one.

As a result, readers who do identify as LGBTQIA can now pick up a steampunk adventure set in Victorian London, a contemporary tale about a gender fluid protagonist finding fame on the internet, and a fantasy novel featuring a lesbian romance.

Entertainment Weekly has been highlighting the best LGBTQIA representation in pop culture by putting together a list of young adult novels that showcase the wealth and diversity of the LGBTQ spectrum.

This young adult fantasy is well written, keeps your interest and is full of action. I certainly enjoyed the romance between Rose and Rayce as it was a sweet love. This author is off to a fantastic start and I'm hoping there's a second book!!

Even though the books so dark it is seen through the eyes of someone who at least compared to the other characters in the book is so innocent as a result readers are left in a state of shock with the main character as they experience this roller coaster (1 more)
With her. The book really has anything you could ask for romance adventure and fantasy and the author does such a good job at displaying these elements appropriately.

I really enjoyed this book as it kept me captivated the whole time. I was curious to see how extensive the children's powers were. It was heart breaking when her parents didn't remember her. I can't imagine having that kind of power. I am a bit disappointed in the movie version as it did not live up to the book I had very much enjoyed. I am aware this is part of a series though I have not read the other books I do look forward to finding out more of the story.

First book of a great series
I listened to this on Audible, and really enjoyed it (so much so I'll be buying the hard copy). Fae, magic, humans, adventure, romance and spiciness... A great combination! The narration on Audible is good, and I got sucked into the story very quickly. Highly recommended for anyone into fae and fairy stuff, fantasy, and magic etc.

A Girl’s Guide to Landing a Greek God by Bill Fuller (Mythmaker’s Trilogy #1) – 4
After running out on her own wedding, Angie takes a trip to Greece with a request from her grandmother to go to one particular island. What she doesn’t know is that on the island is Milos, a man who has been in love with Angie for years. Oh, and he also happens to be a Greek god. What will happen when she arrives?

Fantasy and romance – not my normal genres at all, and this book was heavy on the romance early on, which meant I was a little bored. Once the fantasy began to play a bigger factor in the book in the second half, I got much more interested in the book. So interested, in fact, that I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next to these characters.

NOTE: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

As a romance reader, I love any hint of romance between the characters in books and in this, after what happened between Gin and Donovan in the first book, my hopes soared. But with it being Urban Fantasy, romance isn't really a major plotline in it.

The more I read the more I understood that things probably weren't going to work out well between these two. A (semi) retired assassin and the only un-crooked cop in the force? Hmm...

But lo and behold we have a new love interest! So I'm still pretty happy.

As for the rest of the story, I got dragged into it. I really wanted Gin to kick everyone's arses and come out on top and although it got a little dicey in places she did!

I'm off to start book 3 to read what she's going to get up to next (and hopefully she'll get a little hot and heavy with the new guy!)

Those of you that love sci-fi reading either know of or should be familiar with Harry Harrison's "Stainless Steel Rat" series.
It's a futuristic Robin Hood style story with the action and intrigue of James Bond with the moral flexibility of Han Solo.
It's amazing that this has never made it to the big screen, seeing as how it has most genres covered: action, mystery, thriller, romance, science, technology, fantasy, sci-fi, politics and family.

It's easy reading, go enjoy the trip.

Thanks for reminding me of that series. I enjoyed it, too. May be time for a reread.
