A wonderfully fiery lead female, who gets dropped in the deep end with none of the knowledge she needs to survive.
Perry's snark is instantly relatable, and her inner conflicts as interesting as her outer ones.
A great read

Amazing first book in the series!
The guys are all so individual and amazing. Completely different from any characters in any other book I've read. Laurel has created this fabulous alternate reality that I could only wish to be a part of. Carlyle is this beautiful strong female lead and you can really tell Laurel loves her character as you read the story. This book sets the tone for the whole series and if you've read the other books, you will know she just keeps up the standard the whole way through.

Topical theme
Some idea of what life is like as a refugee

Very abstract
Did I say it's slow?!
Disappointing
I really enjoyed The Reluctant Fundamentalist, but I couldn't warm to this at all. I've seen lots of good reviews though!

Really fantastic series that is filled with action and humour. Love the strong female lead who isn't afraid to fight dirty or stand up for herself. This is one of those series where no one is safe, don't get too attached to certain characters!

The action scenes and Gunplay
The story overall is pretty lackluster and by the numbers (1 more)
The last 30 minutes are unnecessary should have ended right after the cartel base operation Siege sequence
Female Punisher the movie
Overall I didn't hate this movie like most people have I thought it was decent and went out to do what advertised to do which is be an action movie with a Strong badass female lead

Female Bourne
A decent all female lead cast spy thriller. From the same studio as Jason Bourne and it shows. Plenty of globe trotting exploits featuring shootouts, espionage and all the spy craft you'd expect. The cast overall is pretty good, the story and twists are decent although maybe running out of ideas a little by the end. But overall an enjoyable action spy thriller if nothing ground breaking.

Charlize Theron makes this movie
This is definitely one of those marmite movies, in which you either love or hate it. At times, the female protagonist Lorraine, played by Charlize Theron, echoed Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill - stylized sequences, strong female lead, a great 1980's soundtrack and cinematography - made for a good watch.
Where it fell short was the plot. It dragged in the middle of the film, where there seemed to be mindless violence for no apparent reason. The story follows Lorraine Broughton, who is sent to Berlin to find and deliver some priceless information back to MI6. She meets the local station chief David Percival and they get caught up in the normal Iron Curtain spy business you'd expect with people getting killed left right and centre.
The only problem with this is that if Theron’s character Lorraine Broughton had been a man, it wouldn't have changed a single frame of the film. I'd like to see an action film where the female lead isn't trying to be a man replacement or scantily-clad for the male gaze, I'd love to see a female lead being female.
Despite the incredible cast - Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman - the acting was adequate for the kind of film this was, but it could have been so much better.
