I have a soft spot for bounty hunters and space. Put those two together and you have a recipe for magic. This novel was exactly up my alley and I loved everything about it. After reading Katherine McIntyre’s Stolen Petals, I was jonesing for another story similar. This was a perfect match. With a fierce female lead and a deliciously devious male lead, the couple burned up the pages. It’s not erotic however, having a plot interesting enough to keep my attention when they weren’t setting the book on fire.

Overall, the novel reads quick, but it is rather enjoyable. If you like strong female bounty hunters and the men who love them, I recommend it.

Fight like Alexandra Andros
I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology to begin with but the vivant series is my fav orite. Jennifer L Armentrout is a spectacular writer who work is always outstanding.

Alexandra Andros (Alex) is a great lead character strong and cool Harry but brilliant follows her heart and always does the right thing if people want a strong female lead you can not get better than Alex

This was ok for a low budget horror with a very strange story and plot. The cgi is awful for the dream sequences but it can be forgiven. Quite bloody in places with a creepy bad guy and cute female lead. Silly at times but there is far worse out there trust me!!

This novel had such potential. After reading the synopsis, this novel sounded right up my alley and I couldn’t wait to read it. Sadly, the leads ruined it for me. My main beef concerns a wishy washy female lead who is so indecisive I want to slap her. I felt that she wanted her cake and eat it too. After a couple chapters of this and her jerking the mail lead around, I couldn’t take much more. The story is filled with interesting characters, creatures, and planets and I would love to read more about them. However, I just can’t deal with the female lead. I couldn’t relate to her at all or understanding why she went from hot to cold in a matter of sentences. It was aggravating to read about her teasing the male lead then when he comes to see her, she hides. Don’t play with fire if you can’t handle the heat! Overall, her personality was just abrasive to me.

It wasn’t just her either. I felt that the author introduced the male lead with a very specific demeanor and personality as well, but did not stick with it. As soon as they had sex, he became a completely different character than originally described.

Everything, Everything (2017)
Everything, Everything (2017)
2017 | Drama
All in all, Everything Everything is a watered down modern day rehash of the Boy in the Plastic Bubble with a female lead. The film tries to be funny and dramatic yet fails to succeed at either.

I didn't love it the first time through, but the second time and onward has gotten me to really, really enjoy it and become attached to it. It also helps that Hawaii contains some truly fond memories for me. The songs and heroic nature of the female lead character make it a winner in my book.

Movie Favorite

"It has all these blue-eyed, blonde little children who aren’t really from here. George Sanders plays the father who eventually has to lead the children to try to save society, after a meteor passes, and all of a sudden every female in the town is pregnant. I think that’s an amazing opening for a movie, and it’s smart."

So let’s get on with my thoughts of Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters and it’s female leads, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. For starters, I’m not sure why people are negative towards female lead characters, they do all well together and the laughs certainly come through during the movie. McCarthy is brilliant as Abby Yates with her hysterical one-liners, Kristen Wiig is perfectly suited as Erin Gilbert “Doctor of Particle Physics” (look out for the Harold Ramis cameo, of sorts, in one of her scenes).

This was a super easy, quick, and heart happy read. The characters had chemistry that you could see on the pages and imagine off the pages. It gave a strong female lead a strong male lead to compliment her. They work together instead of fighting with each other. It was a definite move from the normal young adult rom-com read.
This is perfect if you need a quick happy read where everything isn't terrible for the main characters the entire book.

Thanks to the publisher for letting me read an early copy through Netgalley.
