"Duras reads like no one else. Films like no one else. Image then sound. The great separation. Depardieu huddled up. The disaster of fiction as the ultimate destination of cinema."

"Invisible Cities defies every single rule that’s generally applied to fiction. Every single one. It would be silly not to have a book like that on the island with me."

I'm about to expose a lot of y'all, but it must be said.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, in regards to film appreciation and response, is just alt Pulp Fiction.

Superb Enticing
Jacqueline Carey gives us an exceptional series and is a gifted author . When one reads the Kushiels series the descriptive writing has you feeling like you are there with the characters. You see the green mountainsides and feel the dry desert heat. This is an enjoyable historical fiction book with a lot of sexuality: about a different culture. The series of books has depth and character development with a wonderful historical fiction background.

I recently reread this book and can say that it was much more enjoyable the first time when my reading and viewing was steeped in science fiction. I still really enjoyed reading it and love the tongue-in-cheek nods to science fiction.

I also had a greater appreciation for the political satire this time around; Zaphod Beeblebrox especially stood out as being much more relevant to me at this point in time.
