""One of my favorite science-fiction movies is Gravity starring Sandra Bullock. As a rocket scientist, I was blown away by the stunning visual effects and three-dimensional-like movement. Plus, I am thankful that producers and writers cast a woman as an astronaut to bring science concerns to the forefront of American and international discussion.""

"I can remember the exact theaters I saw Spike Lee movies in since I was in college, which I can’t say for any other director’s films. “BlacKkKlansman” is no exception. The theater was SILENT for the last five minutes, when the film jumps from fiction to nonfiction. It’s a brilliant choice only Spike would have done."

"“I was obsessed with him when I was a kid. I think it’s a very defining moment for a reader when you first encounter tragedy in fiction. I think it was the first time I ever heard or read a sad story. But at the same time, it was also such a beautiful story, and so well told.”"

"Time is a science fiction album. It has songs about falling in love with robots. It has songs about hover cars and time travelling back to the 1980s. BUT THE 1980s HADN’T HAPPENED YET! Why do you not think this is the best music made by humans? Do you not like laser guns? What is wrong with you?"

"I really actually liked this one. There’s a thing with genre movies and science fiction movies that number two is the charmed; two seems to be the best. I loved Terminator 2. I think of all those kinds of movies, that has to be my favorite ‘blowing big shit up’ kind of movie. How many is that so far?"

They have been calling this "Water for Elephants meets The Night Circus." Since I've never read either of those books, I could enjoy it for what it is - historical fiction, woman's murder mystery with a touch of magical realism. While it seems like Nellie Bly is a hot subject these days, not all novels about her, or that were inspired by her amazing work are the same. This new biographical, historical, women's fiction novel proves that, as you'll see from my review on my blog here.

It seems everyone wants to be the person to chronicle the victory of the Allied forces taking Paris back from the Nazis. This novel follows two women in their efforts to gain that title. I've long touted that artificial sweeteners are poison. Here's a novel that takes that basic premise, brings it into the world of fiction, and watches to see what happens when one of those sweeteners is found to be a real problem. This is a unique hybrid of poetry and prose, mixed with both historical fact and fiction based on the true life story of the famous American outlaw William Bonney, who was better known as "Billy the Kid".
