Normally, I love journalists writing non-fiction, but this was awful. I was completely annoyed reading this book, thank god it was a short one. It tells the story of the 'last hermit', and the guy was just not likeable nor compelling. By midway, I didn't care why he decided to be a hermit. That's when I should have stopped reading. But, I didn't. Overall: woof. I'm never reading anything by Finkel ever again.

An Interesting Approach to Sci-Fi
I'll be honest, I've heard some pretty crappy reviews about this movie so I went into it expecting it to be pretty awful. However, it wasn't. I found this to be an interesting movie about self-discovery and the bond between father and son. The visuals and CGI work were astounding. While it wasn't as fantastic as some science fiction movies I've seen, it was undoubtedly a good one.

[One Came Home] by [Amy Timberlake] is a highly acclaimed book. I really liked the historic aspects. I did not know people hunted pigeons. Also the character of Georgie is a strong, headed individual. I just felt the first half of the book was like a soap opera. I wanted more details about events and less about the relationship muddle of her sister. I like my historic fiction to have more history.

[Fatal Forecast] by [Michael J. Tougias] was a very well written account of a prediction disaster on George's Bank. Unfortunately when we learn to rely on technology and the people in charge decide to cut corners lives can be lost. That is what happened with this storm. The fishermen did not get an accurate forecast because two bouy's were not working.

I really enjoyed this book and it gave me my non fiction fix.

Oh my goodness! What an awesome book! Zelda Fitzgerald is a fascinating series of contradictions. This book is a work of fiction but it feels so real based on the popular myths of Zelda & Scott. You feel for both of them through the whole book. At times you despise each of them yet, in the next instant, you root for them like itÂ’s no oneÂ’s business. What an excellent, entertaining read.

A great fun, action, bloody, Grindhouse B-Movie with an all star cast. Not heard much about this, apparently a follow up film from a short trailer from the Death Proof film. So imagine the likes of Sin City, Pulp fiction with a latin feel and tongue in cheek humour firmly in place. A pure fun, entertaining film not to be taken seriously. If you're a fan of Robert Rodriguez's films, you'll like it.

A kid of the 80s...
I'm a huge fan of cyber punk and science fiction, so I was drawn to the hype on this book. It has a slow start, so I almost gave up. I'm glad I didn't, however, and you will be too. Especially if you were a teen in the 80s, the nostalgia filled quest for the holy Grail ..errr...egg will catch you

I love how different this book is. It left me turning pages and wanting more because I hadn't seen anything quite like this yet. The main character is such a bad a** and I never once found her dull. While there is romance, this isn't a sappy love story. (0 more)
This is purely commercial fiction, not literary. That's perfectly fine, but that simply means it's not art. Just something to read for fun. (0 more)
A unique read!

Quite an unusual setting: the Roman Republic (not yet an Empire) at sea, during the early stages of what would later become known as the first Punic War between Rome and Carthage.

Plenty of novels focusing on Roman Legions: this is the only I can think of focusing on their fledging navy. Definitely in the style of Cornwell, Scarrow et al so if you like that kind of historical fiction, you'll probably like this too.

I don't know if my expectations were too high with all the really positive reviews, but this one didn't grab me as much as I'd hoped. The villain is really very, very wicked and the protagonist must be as blind as bats!

I like at least an attemp at historical accuracy in my historical fiction, but there were some odd things going on here IMO. First Floor conservatory? Unlikely - or an Americanism?!
