I always feel that Mary I gets a lot of bad press. She’s remembered for her bloodthirsty streak (aka Bloody Mary), for being a strict Catholic and for marrying a foreigner - and a Spaniard at that! Oh, and she was a woman at a time when women weren’t believed to be capable of ruling a country in their own right.

Alison Weir is writing a work of historical fiction, but she has done her research. Of course, a lot of Mary’s story could be open to interpretation, and we’ll never know her exact inner thoughts, but she wrote letters and people wrote things down about her at the time. And personally, I really like Weirs interpretation. She makes Mary a human being, with thoughts, loves, hates and responsibilities. The period in history is described so well, that the reader can understand why Mary had such an extreme reaction to those who wouldn’t convert to Catholicism. And, well, Elizabeth I killed a lot more people than Mary ever did, so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I found the chapters on Mary’s childhood really interesting and very sad. What a traumatic childhood she had.

So, if you enjoy historical fiction and want to find out more about Mary I, then this may well be the book for you too. A totally absorbing read!

Lovable characters you can instantly connect with (2 more)
Mature and compelling, but still appropriate for kids, storytelling
Great mix of comedy, action, and dramatic moments
Not just a kids show
A Show I used to obsess over as a kid that holds up very well as an adult. The characters are some of my favorites in all of fiction and it provides a great mix of zany comedy and surprisingly heartfelt moments. The first three seasons are the best imo but 4 and 5 are great too. It's a real shame nothing like this is being made now. Recommended for fans of superheros and/or cartoons in general.

As a military fiction fan and a sci fi fan this was the best of both worlds in one. I loved how most of the stories were from either a LBGT perspective or a female one. Also the various views of war from authors(and in a lot of cases) soldiers from not only different branches but different countries. There were one or two stories that were very difficult to read because their wordiness caused them to be pretentious and drag on(one in particular). Over all though I would recommend this book and would like to see some authors turn the short stories into full length books.

It's actually not a bad film at first I thought the main cast looked a bit weak for such a big project but they do a pretty good job .the story evolves around an alien race wiped out but a few seeking 2 objects which let them recreate there world ,along the way there a love story lots of action and so many interesting species and ideas ...now the film is very much like all your classic science fish coming together think starwars meets avatar with a bit of startre thrown in ,well worth a watch

I hated this book, and loved it. It’s cruel, and frustrating, unfair, and yet it’s also sad, and hopeful, and honest and authentic. I’m not sure how everyone else feels about their High School experience, but I despised mine. You couldn’t pay me to go back. However, this story was so vivid, that I felt as though I could smell the grease from the cafeteria, feel the rough tile on the bathroom floor and the chill of that cold fateful night. This is the story of a mean girl done good.

Hi there everyone! I'm completely new here, so I'm still learning what to do and how to do it! I'm a writer of romance, I write both mainstream romance as well as lesbian romance. My books are published and can be found at Amazon.com under my name. I have three series out currently. My brand of romance is somewhat different from the classic romances, first of all there's action, I write mostly law enforcement, military or music industry related fiction. My characters deal with things like PTSD, mental health and violence against women. My female characters are ALWAYS strong women, I write them the way I want women to be perceived.

Commander Toad and the crew of the Star Warts are ready to explore a new planet made entirely of water. After landing on their inflatable lily pad, they discover they are not alone. Is this planet friendly?

This is a fun adventure that introduces us to Toad and his crew. The story is fasted pace, the easy reader vocabulary is perfect, and the pictures are fun. There are some nice puns, and adults will get a kick out of the science fiction spoofs.
