I'm not the biggest fan of sci-fi stories, I'll admit, but the cover has been taunting me for a while, both on Amazon and on here, so when the price was only 77p I thought, "Why not?
We were thrown straight into Renna's world as jumped straight into her first job of the book and it was a whirlwind of escapes, fighting and pulling off what seems impossible from there until the end.
I loved the tension between Renna and Finn! Even from the start you could tell something was brewing and I really enjoyed reading about it.
As for the rest of the crew, I grew to like them, even the Pirate :)
The ending has left me wanting to jump straight into the next book just to see if Renna and the crew can kick bad guy arse!

When I saw this advertised on one of the many e-book discount emails I get, I thought it sounded really good and I downloaded it straight away. When I started it, I still thought it was pretty good. It just kinda went a bit downhill from there.
There was no build up to any of the sex. It was like meet, say a few words, go back to the hotel and have sex. I didn't get it.
Then came the second vampire. There was just an instant connection and instead of fighting it because you're mortal enemies, you run off together...? I gave up after that.
I didn't feel a connection to the characters or for their "relationship". Not for me at all. I like to read the romance and I couldn't find it in this.
Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (2007) in Movies
Jun 25, 2019
After witnessing his family's brutal murder as a child, he grows up with an unquenching fury he is constantly fighting.
After accidentally unleashing an ancient evil during a plumbing job, his client/professor (Robert Englund) becomes possessed and mutates into a gruesome monster with an undying hunger.
This results in Jack facing his fears he can no longer run from and discover the purpose of his inner rage.
This is a great movie that honestly pays off, a low budget project that deserves a franchise.
