Erika (17788 KP) rated *NSYNC by NSYNC in Music
May 20, 2018
I don't know what's scarier, the fact I'm turning 31 next month, or that I remembered all of the tracks to this album in order. Apparently, I'm getting a little nostalgic.
I was a huge NSYNC fan when I was a youngin', and was constantly fighting with BSB fans about who was superior. The songs on this album are catchy, and I've had 'I Want You Back' stuck in my head for the past 4 days now. Pop music used to be fun, and the synchronized dancing was probably one of my favorite parts of NSYNC. (NSYNC was superior regarding dancing in the BSB v NSYNC debate.)

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2204 KP) rated Deadweather and Sunrise (The Chronicles of Egg, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Egbert "Egg" Masterson leaves the family island unexpectedly, he never expects to find himself on his own and fighting to stay alive. Can he evade those who are after him long enough to find out why they want him dead?
This is an inventive middle grade series. It's not our world but not fantasy either, and I had no problem jumping into that world. There's lots of action for guys with Egg always on the run from killers and pirates. Definitely planning on reading the next one myself soon.

This Romance is about a man looking for someone to take care of his niece Isabella. Jack lost his sister and brother in law. He was now fighting custody for his niece. His lawyer suggestion the only way he was going to keep his niece Isabella was to marry. Jack swore he would not marry ever.
Jack has his reason for this. You find out about it in the book as your progress but he was looking for a nanny for his niece and did he find a wife he could not let go. There are secects that get revel though this romance book.

David McK (3425 KP) rated Tyrant (Tyrant, #1) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
I read this book years ago, and had rated it (by memory) with 1 star on Goodreads. Having recently re-read it, I now think that might be a bit harsh.
On the other hand, 2 stars might be a bit generous.
I found this heavy going, slow to start, and not really all that exciting. It's unusual in that it is set in the time of Alexander (the Great), but this Alexander - or more particularly - his army, are actually the villains of the piece, with Kineas and his band of Mercenaries fighting against the invading Macedonians in the company of the Scyths.
Not impressed over all.

David McK (3425 KP) rated Hunter's Rage (Civil War Chronicles, #3) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
The third in Michael Arnold's Civil War Chronicles, again following the exploits of Captain Stryker and his men, who are fighting for the (doomed) Royalist cause.
At the start of this particular entry, Stryker and his men are unknowingly behind enemy lines, after the cessation of a brief truce. This novel could also be split into three main sections: the first dealing with their journey back to their own side of the lines, the second with what is effectively a siege that they are forced to undergo while on that journey, and the final part with the battle of Stratton.
As before, this was a thoroughly entertaining read!

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated The Grace Year in Books
Dec 31, 2019
I received a copy of The Grace Year from Wednesday Books through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
It's a cute pink cover, isn't? This story is not cute or pink. It's a brutal story of misogyny and control.
Tierney is a dreamer who is not allowed to dream. Her existence is destined to be an evil siren who lures men to their Doom.
Fighting back is not an option. Until it is.
It's a story about survival and how your worst enemies can be the ones who should be on your side and your allies can be who you least expect.
..
Absolutely brilliant.

A rhr and book 1 of shifter mates trilogy
Astrid is a fox shifter who finds herself fighting to claim her wolf mate from a black magic witch!
She becomes conflicted when her feelings for another fox shifter collide with her feelings for her wolf.
This is the second series of Crystals you I'm reading. They are shortish books and I tend to get them done in 24/48 hours.
I'm enjoying Crystal Ash Her books flow well and keep you interested. I'm left wanting not after this one I'm looking forward to seeing it develop. I like her use of different shifters. Her characters are interesting.

Merissa (12069 KP) rated Severed (Cloud Prophet Trilogy, #3) in Books
Dec 17, 2018
Reychel may seem weak at first glance, but after reading through the three books in this part of the story, she is a lot stronger than she appears. She does not take the easy option and will continue fighting for what she believes in even if other people have given up.
This has been an entertaining and intriguing set of books to read, the storyline has followed through at a wonderful pace and all of the characters are well developed, whether you like them or not.
I would recommend this book/series for all fans of Fantasy, not just YA, as I think it appeals to all ages.
