this novel is majorly complex and detailed and offers a commentary on materialism, money, power, capitalism, and the mind that is still incredibly relevant today (4 more)
a startling question you have to ask yourself once you approach the end is if any of the narrative was reliable, and this is a question that remains unresolved even after completing the novel
the book goes into monotonous & excruciating detail, not only in its gore but also in its everyday: this can become tedious to read but this is the point as it its pointless, mundane nature that emphasises the futile, self absorbed lifestyle Bateman lives
unnerving character development with elements of the unreliable narrator making you want to reread the whole novel again, but the disturbing nature of the novel's content seems to prevent me from doing so
a book to be disgusted by, but mainly in terms of being disgusted at yourself for finding the whole thing so intriguing
incredibly difficult to read in many places simply due to how disturbing the content is (0 more)

All I can say about this book is what a cliffhanger!!! I am glad I have the 3rd book sitting here so I can find out what happens to Katniss.
I am officially hooked on this series. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I enjoyed this book more than the first. That might be attributed to the fact that it picks up where the first left off so there wasn't anything to really figure out this time around.
The characters are all unique & fascinating in their own ways. At the same time you can't help but to find a little of yourself in each & every one of them.
I look forward to finding out how this trilogy ends...

Going Places by Kathryn Beria

Four Stars

This story is about a teenage boy trying to find himself. Hudson was going places according to his teacher. When life throws off Hudson balance he seems to stop wanting to go places. School became unnecessary and helping others a priority. I’m not a boy so I don’t completely understand what he was going through. But I did understand not knowing what your future would hold and not finding confidence within yourself. His relationship with Fritzy was hilarious and true. She did give him sweet words or half truths. I didn’t like Love all that much. Overall the author did good and I was excited to be in the mind of a more realistic teenage boy on the journey of maturity.

P.S. I'm surprised 'A Way Out' hasn't been rated more on here, definitely one of the best co-op games I've played. Anyone else played it?
