Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia, #7) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A great evil comes to Narnia. Can good defeat it one last time? This is a different book for the series, and it certainly wasn't the ending I expected when I first read it in 3rd grade. However, as an adult, I've come to love it. This is my second favorite in the series.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated M Is for Mama's Boy (NERDS, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The NERDS team is back and on the trail of a bank robber using squirrels as his accomplishes. Is it an old friend turned villain? This Bond spoof for kids is a very funny ride that I completely loved. Definitely consider it for kids in life, but read it yourself first. You'll love it, too.

Many great recommendations (2 more)
Organic bits

I love Get Up On This so much! I've been listening since Jensen Karp's first appearance on Kevin Smith's podcast. I loved learning so much about rap history through him. I've always had a hard time keeping up with new things and while I don't dig all of their recommendations I'm happy to at least know about the things they talk about and occasionally broaden my interests.

Characters
I honestly don't remember how or when I started listening to Welcome to Night Vale, but I do remember falling in love instantly. The voice acting is what first got me hooked onto the podcast, and the strangeness kept me listening. The characters are amazing, and the worldbuilding is brilliantly done.
However, the music choices for the weather were sometimes a bit too weird for me, but there were some great songs.

Jcadden76 (64 KP) rated Goodreads: Book Reviews in Apps

Like just don't use it anymore.
I started using their website first and then dug into their app later. I really like the app, I like the service as an idea. I used to use the app a lot more but I have developed different interest and find that I am just out of the habit of logging in and using it.
If you are a book-lover, this is a great app and you will completely love it.

Koibones (15 KP) rated Existenz (1999) in Movies
May 30, 2018
While it does take multiple viewings to fully grasp the story, it's an incredible film full of abrupt changes in every way imaginable. I love how characters and events are brought full circle and the ending is so perfectly confusing. There is a good chance you won't like your first viewing, and honestly, I'd call that normal.

“We really want a Dove Award”
I loved every single album of theirs until this last one.
Every.
One.
Comatose was the first one I heard, great stuff. I fell more and more in love with them as the years went by.
ENTER THIS ATROCITY OUT OF LEFT FIELD
“Unleashed” sounded like overly processed spam plopping sadly out of a dusty can onto a generic plate of boredom.

Sara Cox (1845 KP) rated Seven Viking Romances in Books
Aug 13, 2018
This is very easy to read, unlike a lot of translated classics. I highly recommend it. It is interesting as to what is classified as a romance, as the first story of the the seven wouldn't be deemed to the modern standards of romantic. However, after getting to know the definition of romance in this context, this is very different to the way we look at romance - in terms of love and gestures, the book becomes increasingly interesting.

As good as, if not better than the first, I'm still in absolute awe of each character and how they act and speak and I just love them! You have to be a pretty special author to create characters that are memorable and so unique in contrast to other characters in other books but of course Laurel is just that amazing! Carlyle is by far my favourite female character in anything I've ever read. You fabulous Qilin you!!!!

The first book club read of the year, did I enjoy it yes and no, it started very well but dragged on too long, chapter 30 was where I would gave ended it.
It did give you a look at the 10 year old mind and how they see the world, which I found interesting and what a psychiatrist would make of the end I would love to know.
All together an interesting if not drawn out read.
