Elizabeth Pantley has done it again!

Ever since Hayden has arrived at Destiny falls mystery seems to follow her. There is no change in this book as a man who was already thought dead is found, dead! Its down to Hayden, Han, Jaxson and Axel to discover what's going on.

Another fantastic story beautifully written by Elizabeth it captures you into the world of Destiny Falls and the magic that happens around it. I love that every book has a new mystery to be uncovered but I also love the new charecters and the descriptions of them they are so vivid!

Another fantastic story definatly recommended, but please read the others in the series first! I can't wait for book 4!

VACANCY is the first book in The Seven and I am already desperate for the rest of them, but am so glad Hudson is coming up next. But I'm jumping. Let me tell you about this one first…

First off, I love Oaklynn's name. She is a strong character, even when things get tough. She is unapologetic about her past but has a plan for her present. Unfortunately for her, Damien is there to blow those plans out of the water.

I loved how it was written for Oaklynn and Thalia. Even though it was clear to the reader, Oaklynn's naivety made it perfect. I did find it hard when the revelations came out though, and my heart broke for Oaklynn for how everyone had treated her, even if I could 'maybe' understand the reasons for it.

Damien falls first and I love that trope, especially when it's written as well as it is here. He knows he has to tell her but hopes for just one more day. Until he has no choice. How he behaved after that made it realistic.

The Seven - oh, man. I love this lot. Such distinct personalities, going through so much, and having each others' backs. I can't wait to dive back into their world. And I'm really hoping Raina and Waverley are in there too somewhere. Jaylini, well, I didn't really warm to her so I'm not too bothered if she doesn't reappear.

The mystery side wasn't such a mystery, as it was pretty clear from the hints given who it was, but for me, it wasn't so much who it was, but rather how it was written and the reactions to it.

A brilliant story that I loved and HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

You Only Live Twice (1967)
You Only Live Twice (1967)
1967 | Action, Mystery

"That would have to be a James Bond film, and then I was trying to think of what my favorite one would be. And I guess it would probably be You Only Live Twice. Mr. Connery. Even though I really like Roger Moore, too. I mean I liked all the Bonds, honestly. Including the newest, Mr. Craig. He’s fantastic. But yeah, You Only Live Twice. It takes place in Japan as a part of it, and you’ve got Blofeld, Spectre, the classic villains, and the whole thing with the volcano that’s really a secret lair. And you’ve got Russia and the United States. You know, it’s huge in scope. And I don’t know, it’s this great classic Bond to me, and a great song, a great theme song. I think the first time I saw it, I definitely saw it on TV. I’m not sure what year it came out, but I may not have even been born yet when that came out. I mean my first exposure to James Bond was absolutely on television. And then my first one to see in the theater, which I also love, is The Spy Who Loved Me. That was pretty exciting. That was the first Bond I saw at a movie theater."

First finished book of 2019!! I would rate this 3 1/2 stars so I have rounded up to 4 stars.

I listened to this book through the Read Me Romance podcast. I loved the concept of the podcast and the intro music is amazing. Closer is my first time reading Alexa Riley so I went into this book with no idea what I was signing up for. Unfortunately, it seems that this little novella fell under the curse of the novella, I didn't feel connected to the characters.

Though I didn't feel connected to the characters I still liked them. They were interesting and I wish that I could have a full novel with the characters and not a short novella. I also liked the narrators and I think that they added a half star to my rating of this book.

The plot was obviously quick and dirty. It kept me entertained but it also left me wanting a lot more. There really wasn't time to get to know the characters and it was insta love which generally annoys me. I love insta connection but the insta love just drives me up the wall. I wish that I would have gotten to know the characters more and see a relationship develop.

All in all, it was quick and dirty.

The First Secret (Hidden Portals Trilogy #2) by Maya Daniels
The First Secret is the second book in the Hidden Portals Trilogy, and there is no second-book-slump with this little beauty.

This is Fern and Iris' story, and we are able to catch up with Raphael and Artemis too. I love Iris, and have done from book one. She is sassy, has an attitude, and isn't afraid to stand up for herself against 'others'. Fern fights his attraction to Iris, fearing her to be the same as Lazarus. It takes a while, and some 'advice' from others, plus a near death experience before he realises he is an ass. And don't we all love it when that happens?!

Once again, this story is complete by itself, but it does lead you nicely to the next book. As with all Maya Daniels books, there were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading. I love her world-building, and the characters are just amazing. I am loving this series, and have no hesitation in recommending both the book and the series.
