Otway93 (580 KP) rated Resident Evil (2021) in Movies

The film should have been two films really, the first covering the Mansion Incident, and the second covering the outbreak in Raccoon City.
The characters, while being most of the best known characters from the original game, are present yet at the same time not quite right. The casting, while not terrible, did make some mistakes, mostly in Tom Hopper's portrayal of Wesker, he just seems far too young for the role. But that isn't the only issue. The character's personalities are not as you remember them.
Chris comes across as very arrogant and annoying, Jill comes across as quite sassy, and poor Leon, the rookie cop seems to be a bumbling fool there for comic relief.
The best written and acted character by a long way is Claire, who comes across as the little rebel we know and love.
All in all, definitely worth a watch, and I will definitely watch it again. But if you are a huge Resident Evil nerd such as myself, it will certainly have it's moments for you, but don't go in expecting to see the entire story of Raccoon City unfold before your eyes.
Also, don't forget to keep watching the credits...

Merissa (13303 KP) rated Death (The Four Horsemen #4) by T.A. Chase in Books

I think the only thing that confused me momentarily in this book is that Aldo (Pestilence) and Bart had both met Pierre, albeit when he was suffering withdrawal symptoms, but still. However, they are both confused in their own book when they receive a wedding invitation from Gatian and Pierre. Now they might not have known Death's 'mortal' name, but they did know Pierre's. Still, this is a very insignificant point that in no way detracted from my enjoyment.
Well-written, smoothly paced and with an amazing amount of growth, this book is simply delightful. This is definitely the star in the series for me although I have thoroughly enjoyed every book. I would love for a story of Lam and Day *hint hint*. Definitely recommended.

This lovely board book will teach them about baseball and baseball term words. It is adorable and will be enjoyable for children.; It a game between Cows and Bears? Who will win in the ninth inning?
Want to take your youngest fans of baseball to a game? Well, this book can do that without leaving your home—what a time for me to be reading this book. However, the baseball season starts in April, which is Spring. This sports season is still going on, as I write. I thought this book was quite an adorable read. I love the back and forth of the story—it is like being at a real ball game.
Children will learn about baseball and enjoy the rhyming as your read. Parents can help young readers learn to read and learn about a sport. The book is a fast and quick read. Who will win the game of the year? Young fans will enjoy the story, and the pictures stand done well. Baseball is a good family event as well. If you are a baseball fan, you might have a little fan of your own and HomeRun! My First Baseball Game is terrific to have your child or children's bookshelf. They can learn a little about the game through this lovely book.
Anyone can enjoy a book about baseball. It is a good summer sports event to go to and have family fun. You do not need to worry about your toddler holding and to play with this book. It is a board book and sturdy for them.

Merissa (13303 KP) rated Alien Indiscretions (World of Kalquor #9) in Books
Oct 31, 2023
Crissy and Tasha are Jessica's cousins and have made their way to Kalquor to start a new life, one where they can be with whomever they wish. Crissy takes an instant dislike to one of the councillors but is more than happy to push them onto her twin. Of course, that doesn't happen, and Crissy and the Kalquorians need to figure a lot of things out while they still have the chance.
This is definitely a case of those who know, see a different person, because at first glance Crissy is uncouth, brash, and downright rude at times. However, those who know her, love her. And there is enough about her to catch the interest of two out of the three Kalquorians.
This story has a lot of backstory to it, with an overall story arc playing a BIG part of this story. For that reason, I would definitely recommend reading some of the others before this one. It was all well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. The pacing is smooth, and there are plenty of sexy scenes for your titillation.
If you have read any of these books before, then I can absolutely recommend it. If you haven't, then I still recommend it, but would suggest you start the series properly first.
