Thank you so much to Bookishfirst! I received my copy using my bookish first points and chose this book because of the Netflix film Moxie. I loved that movie and have yet to read the book but it is def on my TBR. This is the first book I have read from this author and I definitely plan to check out her other book, Moxie. The authors writing style leaves you wanting more and this was a really good book.

The time setting is in the 1960s and I agree with most of the other reviews that say it reminds you of the outsiders but instead of a bunch of bros there are chicas being badass. Anyone who liked the outsiders should check out this read because the author did base the story on the classic novel so that's why it is super similar. And if you love zines Jennifer Mathieu's book Moxie is perf for all the riot grrls out there and the movie is directed by Amy Poehler!

good start for a first time author
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I'm a bit in two minds about this book, and I can't figure out why but I'll try.

It's a Nice book. I know I hate using that word but it's the best I can come up with! It has drama, passion, love, hate, lots of different emotions with just enough of each to not be overpowering.

I will say this, only Harper has a say. In the first person AND present tense. And it took me til way past halfway to figure out it was present tense, so well done to Fox for making me NOT see something that might have made me dump it!

I did need to hear from Easton though. I think he would have had a lot to say, especially about what he's dealing with, with his sisters and his nutty ex.

And I found out after I'd read this, that this is a first time author! So very well done to Fox for this book, even if it wasn't quite my cuppa tea.

I enjoyed it, it didn't quite push any buttons for me, BUT! I would like to read the next one, just to see how Fox' skill is growing. And Easton's sister really could be an interesting character!

3 GOOD solid stars

OMG, what a read, this book had me smiling, laughing then crying all at the same time. This book just sucks you in from the first page, keeping you hooked till the very last page. two amazing characters which were perfect together. The male character is definitely swoon worthy. This story is told in dual points of view by both main characters, I love this cause you get to understand both characters. I can't wait to read from this author in the future.

Highly recommended

This is a new genre for me being a historical romance. This is the first time I've read one. I enjoyed this story, I just ended up getting lost in the story. This story is well developed and will keep you hooked till the end. Well written characters which you will love. This book is less then 100 pages but there is so much packed into these pages. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future and maybe try another historical romance.

A unique play on your typical murder/mystery book. Jake Boulder is no PI or cop, he's simply a bouncer in a local bar. Always willing to help out and play the muscle for his PI buddy, Alfonse, this time the local Police Department is so desperate, they too are asking for their help. Tracking a killer like this is far from easy and getting the dual POV on this one, as both Jake and our killer, made it even that much more interesting! First book by this author and I'm sure I'll be back for more!
