I remember playing this back in the back in 90s and been impressed by the game I think it was my first ever shoot em up type at the time I was still playing games like mario bros and other same type games and I tried this game and I was blown away by the graphics thought it was too gory at first but I got over that eventually still one of the best first person shooter games ever

Identical twins solve a murder told first person in alternating chapters. Yes, it's a gimmick, but the twin authors pull it off perfectly. The start of a delightful series.

The fourth of Edgar Rice Burrough's Barsoom series that began with A Princess of Mars, this is actually the first book in the series that does not centre on the main protaganist of the first three novels (John Carter), as well as being the first story to be told in the third rather than first person.

As a consequence, I actually found this particular one to be a bit of a let-down from the previous, even if it does follow the same plot arc of those earlier stories (right down to yet another mysterious undiscovered race!).

Amazing book
My Favorite set of books this is, the first gets you really into it as its a take on post apocalyptic America that I certainly had never read before, the personalisation of it (the way its written in first person) makes it feel so much closer to the heart so that when Katniss hurts, you feel it you really feel her struggles etc. Its extremely well written and I can't reccomend it enough.

This one is told by Daystar's pov. Unlike the other three books it is in first person. As the conclusion of the series, it surprisingly takes a little while to get going. However it doesn't feel rushed. It doesn't take itself too seriously, albeit she does stress the importance of being polite.

Movie Favorite

"I’m always hesitant to claim that any movie “changed my life,” but this one actually did. At the time I first saw it, I’d never considered the possibility of telling a story without narrative. It changed the way I thought about all art, and it made me want to be a weirder person."

I felt like this book was going to be an epic journey of self discovery and redeeming family and resolving past mistakes, but it was more like reading the journal of a boring person. A person with an interesting life, mind you, but the person himself was boring. I can’t even remember the main character’s name. It felt disconnected and random, jumping around and telling snapshots and things that happened, but no real plot. A bunch of things does not equal plot.

I felt this way the first time I tried listening to it, and so I put it down. Then one Saturday I was bored so I tried again and I got the same vibe, so I quit. I got about 6 or 8 chapters in.
