For the first half of this, I was really into it. I liked the love triangle aspect and I understood it. I couldn't figure out how Dana fit into it though, I just assumed she was some crazy ex-girlfriend stalker person - I was very wrong

I have to say I liked both Paul and Stewart, though for different reasons. Paul is very laid back while Stewart is very intense, but both are great guys.

It all seemed to fall apart for me after the half way point. I loved the revelation that occurred, I just cant say I understood what happened afterwards. I expected more of a fight and there wasn't one, which disappointed me a bit.

They both claim to love her so why give her up so easily?

"The second time I went to see this was only a few weeks after the first time. My band was on tour somewhere in Florida, and one person went to a multiplex to see The Silence of the Lambs while the three of us who had already seen it went next door to The Five Heartbeats. I think the opening credits of The Five Heartbeats were still on the screen when I knew I really did not want to sit through what promised to be a dreadful movie. I quickly calculated that I would be considerably more entertained seeing Silence of the Lambs again, even having just seen it, and ran out of one theater into another. I felt like I’d escaped from jail. Just great. Not surprisingly, this film warrants repeated viewings!"

"I saw this when I was very young. It was the first Fellini film I ever saw, and it is without a doubt my favorite Fellini film. There’s so much pathos in it. I love Nights of Cabiria, but for me this is Giulietta Masina at her best. Casting her as a clown—with her expressiveness and over-the-top facial expressions still feeling so grounded—combines realism and spectacle in one person. To me, that makes her one of the greatest of all time. When I can’t get to sleep at night and I don’t want to start a new book, I’ll put this on, and if I stay awake for the whole thing until five o’clock in the morning, I’ll be okay being tired the next day, knowing that I watched it."
