Talii is a singer-songwriter based in Orlando, Florida. Not too long ago, she released a lyric video for her tropical pop tune, entitled, “Front Seat”.

“I don’t think we ever met in this lifetime but my soul knows you. I don’t recognize you with my eyes but I think I’m starting to. You reflect the best of me, make me wanna give my all to you. I’m tryna get to know you better.” – lyrics

‘Front Seat’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who courageously decides to take the lead in her life.

Apparently, she looks within herself for guidance and gets in tune with her soul. Later, she admits, she’s becoming somebody and starting to remember who she truly is.

‘Front Seat’ contains an adorable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and rhythmic instrumentation flavored with tropical, R&B, and dancehall elements.

“The title refers to moving your ego out of the driver’s seat and allowing your true self to take the wheel. It’s a representation of appreciating and loving the person I’m becoming. It reflects my growth and evolution not only musically but within my life overall.” – Talii via Billboard

Powerful, visually dazzling contemporary drama. The lives of an African-American family in Florida begin to unravel when their son, perhaps pushed too hard by a driven father, develops a painkiller addiction and discovers his girlfriend is pregnant. Very much in the same kind of vein as Moonlight, but I found this to be much more powerful in addition to being incredibly creative visually - the screen is filled with a bravura mixture of colour and movement.

For the first hour and half or so, this is like watching a car crash in slow motion: it's almost unbearable to watch the main character go off the rails, but you can't look away either. It concludes with the kind of incident you hear about as a brief item on the news, but here the film puts flesh on those bones and the scale of the tragedy is made clear. The third act is a definite change of pace: no less artfully made or moving, but less focused, and the outcome of the film remains in doubt until the very end. I'm hugely surprised this hasn't featured on the Academy Awards shortlist: a tremendous film in so many ways.

Should've called ahead...
393. Villains. I think we got the wrong house! The stars of 'It' and 'It Follows' team up to play a couple of fun lovin criminals, Mickey and Jules, trying to make their way to Florida, to sell seashells by the seashore, that's not a joke. After robbing a gas station, they, uh, run out of gas and decide to break into the only house around, and that was a bad choice. The house looks normal enough, grab a scooby snack from the closet, maybe outdated a bit, in the middle of exploring the owners of the house come on in. And their reaction to the unwanted guests isn't exactly what you'd expect. Do George and Gloria, homeowners, have something to hide, like the fact that they're psychopaths? Hmm maybe. Bill Skarsgard was great as Mickey, the charming slightly stupid guy. Jeffrey Donovon, of Burn Notice fame, Stanley knows what I'm talking about, and Kyra Sedgwick are freaking great as the seemingly normal yet psychotic next door neighbors! I wasn't too satisfied with the ending, however it definitely is a fun movie to watch! Filmbufftim on FB.
