Twisted Metal, the console game, is a post apocalyptic racer of sorts from all accounts.

I've never played it.

It does seem to be a strange choice for an action-adventure comedy series, but I actually found this to work quite well, largely based in the chemistry of the co-leads (Mackie as the 'milkman' John Doe, hired to deliver a package cross country and encountering Beatriz's Quiet along the way) and the antagonist played by Thomas Haden-Church.

Oh, and never forgetting the murderous clown Sweet Tooth who steals pretty much every scene he is in ...

The Knowing is a companion novel to the Forgetting, rather than a strict sequel. Set hundreds of years after the events of the first book, the Knowing took a little time to find it's pace and delve into the story. At first, I wasn't entirely entranced by the plot but before long I was drawn in and couldn't put the book down.

Samara is one of the Knowing, the gifted people of New Canaan who are unable to forget anything. This is a unique premise, but soon the reader realizes that being unable to forget anything is not always a positive. Pain and bad memories can be relived perfectly, so forgiveness and healing are not entirely possible. On a positive side, someone could read non-fiction books and never forget their contents.

She is an interesting character and it was nice to see the plot from both her and Beck's points of view. As she is one of the Knowing, that identity and ability influenced everything she did in the book and how she reacted to situations - whereas Beck is from Earth and found himself in a completely foreign (yet fascinating) situation when he landed on the planet in search of the Lost City of Canaan. I enjoyed both of their portrayals, although I think I enjoyed Beck a little bit more as a character.

Going into the book, I didn't realize that it was set hundreds of years in the future of the Forgetting. It was a slight adjustment to get used to an entirely new word and way of thinking (the Forgetting versus the Knowing) and the pacing did not help. The first time I started the book, I put it down after a few chapters and decided to read other books. Once it got a few more chapters into the story, it was much more engaging and I really enjoyed the story.

Don't tell him pike
One of my favourite sitcoms classic comedy gold even after 50 years it hasn't lost any of its charm
Arthur Lowe is perfectly cast as the pompous bank manager captain mainwaring no one else should else could play him so well and the rest of the cast is perfect not forgetting the theme tune sang by Budd Flannigan is just right. For the show one of my favourite episodes has to be the deadly attachment with the classic line don't tell him pike still makes laugh after all these years highly recommend comedy

Brilliantly written and in-depth.

The Encanto is full of well written characters and lots of twists and turns. Not forgetting details that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

Descriptively rich you can easily get lost for hours in this world of mystery and intrigue......then 'wake' up in the real world. Make sure to have a cuppa to hand and some cheeky biscuits, a snuggly blanket and get comfortable.

Ideal for anyone with a love of historical type legends with artefacts and adventure. You'll be kept on your toes and there's the added bonus of this being the first in the series!!

Brian Blessed sets up the movie wickedly with his booming and distinctive voice as he opens the film in only Blessed could do, what a way to start a movie bring some fantasy to the genre in true Blessed style and also not forgetting that the lovely Emily Booth as a fantasy warrior woman.

Look out for the Kane Hodder in the movie as well, his portrayal of the character Mr Parsons had me laughing out loud at one point, certainly not the sort of role you’d expect to see Hodder in, but it’s priceless, but there is a little more to his character than you first expect, brilliant.

The copy of this book I have is a B&N Exclusive Edition so it has a bonus chapter in it.
I picked up this book to read to my son, David. This book takes place in Australia.
It has been five years since Livy has visited her Grandmother in Australia. Now that she has returned she has a feeling she is forgetting something. She goes into her mom's old bedroom where she stayed before and she opens up the closet and out comes this small greenish creature in a chicken suit. This creature is named Bob. He has been waiting five years for Livy to come back for him. He doesn't know who or what he is and five years ago Livy promised to find out. Now it is time for Livy to keep that promise. Bob has a big job helping Livy remember things from five years ago. When Livy is away from Bob for any length of time she starts forgetting about him. As you read the story it takes you through some fun events to help solve the mystery of who Bob is. This was a fun story. There are differences of how Australia talk and what things are called in that country compared to ours. I would recommend that you read this book. We gave it 4 stars.

Cameos
Just watched this film is seriously funny I like some Kevin Smith films like chasing amy and red state definitely put this up there with those films. Any film that breaks the third wall and pokes fun at it self and even Kevin Smith makes fun of himself which was funny. Love the cameos especially Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth who I thought would never do something like this. But lastly not forgetting Harley Quinn Smith daughter of Kevin Smith star of the future who manages to steal the movie from her dad chip off the old block anyway good movie worth a rewatch.

"It seems to me that one thing we should be trying to keep in mind these days is the phrase, “It could be worse.” This book shows us a much-worse time and its tragic effects on a group of tender friends/lovers/artists. We should energetically protect our system, and try to heal the toxic divisiveness afflicting us, and resist the lies being routinely promulgated, from above and on social media, because when a system fails, the victim is human decency – all these dear hearts suddenly living reduced, fearful, degrading lives. We have, as Paul Simon put it, “lived so well, so long” that we may be in danger of forgetting that the results of chaos are real."

I'm grinning like an idiot due to the end of that last chapter, not the epilogue, the chapter.

Amaranthe and Sicarius, sitting under a tree, K I S S I N G!

Ha ha! Took them long enough. So happy about that but at the same time him deciding that they wont pursue it until after they get pardoned by the emperor. That's another 4 books or so away! I love you guys!

Not forgetting the rest of the group, of course. You're all great but I think apart from Amaranthe and Sicarius that Maldynado is my favourite. I hope he gets his statue in the end!

Need to buy books 4-7 ASAP!

Alice is a well-known Harvard professor with a successful career, a loving husband, and three grown children. However, at the age of 50, she finds herself increasingly forgetting things - a particular word of a lecture, an event, how to get home from a run... Alice is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease and her world completely changes.

This book is beautiful and horrifying and tragic. It literally hurt my heart to read about Alice's unraveling and spiral into her disease. It's terrifying, for sure. Genova does an amazing job portraying Alice and the supporting characters of her life - particuarly her husband John, and her three children. It's definitely a worthwhile read, though it will stay with you for a while.
