graveyardgremlin (7194 KP) rated Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vol. 1 in Books
Feb 15, 2019
Night of the Living Re-run receives a generous one star. <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/173100251">Full review here</a>.
Coyote Moon is a 3.5 star read. <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/166415466">Click for full review</a>.
Unfortunately I never got around to a review for the best story in the volume, [b:Portal Through Time|293358|Portal Through Time (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2, #6)|Alice Henderson|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1173467827s/293358.jpg|284646], which is a solid four-star read.
Recommend either getting the books used or from the library, $10 seems rather pricy for what there is.

Often Off Topic (37 KP) rated Over The Moon (2020) in Movies
Nov 11, 2020
If you thought only Disney Pixar can make animated musicals with the power to make you cry as hard as you laugh, then think again. Netflix is here to surprise you! I've always loved animated movies but avoided Over the Moon when it was released last month because I heard it was all about how a young girl deals with grief and ugh, can anyone in 2020 handle their emotions? Because I sure can't. I couldn't stay away forever though and I'm so glad I finally gave it a try. This is such a beautiful movie from its storytelling to its visuals. If this isn't an Oscar contender I will RIOT.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2086 KP) rated 4th of July (Women's Murder Club, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
After Lindsay goes on a stakeout that turns into a shootout, she finds herself facing a lawsuit by the victims' family. Trying to escape, she stumbles into a string of murders in Half Moon Bay that bears a striking resemblance to her first case. The dual plots were okay, but I missed the rest of the characters.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2086 KP) rated Moon Water Madness (Luanne Fogarty Mysteries, #7) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Adjunct county diver Luanne Fogarty is asked to search for a body in a private lake. The twist is, the man died 50 years ago. Why search for him now? What happened to him all those years ago? Just like the others in the series, this one offers vivid writing, memorable characters, and a solid plot.

Christina Haynes (148 KP) rated Alpha Divided in Books

Alpha Divided
As the full moon mating ceremony approaches and the tribunal not long after. Tessa is starting to panic and her mate Dastien seems pretty unfased by it. Which is kind of making Tessa even more stressed out...
Tessa is worried about the witches and what they might say or even do at the tribunal. Which to be fair everyone is. On the day of the full moon ceremony Lucinda and some of her coven arrive and threaten war if they do not stop what they are doing. As things turn nasty Tessa agrees to stop the ceremony until after the tribunal.
After the tribunal happens Tessa is sent to the Coven to stay there for one month before returning to the pack. She doesn't want too, but she does in order to stop the war from looming.
Whilst living with the coven she soon learns what Lucinda is up too. How she runs this coven and what the witches there think. How absolutely crazy she is! Tessa does make some friends whilst there and they help her and the wolves when the fight starts. The vampires are back lead by the witches and things are about to turn bad. Tessa's powers have gone both her Bruja and Alpha powers, what will she do?
3☕ – NOT A BAD BOOK
Love, Christina ?

Bong Mines Entertainment (15 KP) rated Underground - Single by Lindsey Stirling in Music
Jun 25, 2019
Lindsey Stirling is an electronic violinist based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “Underground” single.
The Tom Teller-directed music video finds Lindsey Stirling inside a futuristic dystopia which features neon lights and acrobatic dancers.
Her “Underground” single contains adventurous instrumentation centered around her immaculate violin performance.
Also, the four-and-half-minute tune is a somber and enticing introduction to her upcoming studio album, entitled, “Artemis”.
“There have been times of my life where I have felt completely overcome by the ‘shadow’ of grief or depression. I felt like I’d never feel full happiness again. But the moon has taught me a powerful lesson. Just because she gets covered in shadow doesn’t mean she isn’t still there, and that she won’t fight back to reclaim her full light. Also, Artemis is the goddess of the moon. This album tells her story. It tells my story. I think it tells everyone’s story.” – Lindsey Stirling
‘Artemis’ will be available on September 6, 2019, via BMG. The anticipated project will tackle themes of overcoming obstacles and fighting through life’s downfalls to reclaim one’s happiness and strength.
Also, it recounts the story of Artemis, Goddess of the Moon, whose life uniquely draws parallels to Stirling’s personal experiences.
Lindsey Stirling is internationally recognized for her performances on America’s Got Talent and Dancing With The Stars.
As a solo artist, she has amassed well over 11M YouTube subscribers and 2 billion-plus YouTube streams. Also, she has won multiple Billboard Music Awards since releasing her self-titled debut album in 2012.
According to Billboard, in 2016, Stirling was the highest grossing Electronic Artist. Ahead of headlining acts like The Chainsmokers, Flume, and Kygo. Also, she’s a New York Times Bestselling author, and she was featured in Forbes ’30 Under 30’ list.

Dean (6924 KP) rated Howl (2015) in Movies
Apr 13, 2018
Fun British Horror
This was a nice surprise I stumbled across a while back. A very good British Horror film, probably the best since @Dog Soldiers (2002) From the same Sfx team as Descent and the Woman in black. A group of passengers on the last train home out of Waterloo, a different kind of Horror, break down in the middle of no where... Just when there is a full moon. Despite the low budget this is pretty good with a recognizable cast, even if the acting is a little cheesy at times. If you don't mind lower budget Horror then check it out!

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Lethbridge-Stewart: Moon Blink (#5) in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Moon Blink is a great start to the new "season" of LS books. There are some great ideas in here, and a few truly golden nugget scenes. Unfortunately, the book doesn't coalesce quite as well as it should, particularly when it reaches the final act. The villain (and thus the climax) never reach full potency after a great set up, which was frustrating.
Once again, Anne Travers takes the lead in the proceedings while Lethbridge-Stewart is relegated to the background, but for this story, that dynamic not only made sense, but was essential. Sadie Miller exhibits a natural knack for writing these characters, and has a strong voice with which to do it.
It may only be a three an a half star book, but because it was so enjoyable to read I have it the benefit of the extra star. Can't wait to read more!

The first books in Stuart Gibbs's three series with Simon and Schuster in one paperback collection. You've got Belly Up, about the murder of a hippo at the new mega FunJungle. Then you'll join Spy School with Ben. Finally, you'll journey to the first colony on the moon and solve a murder there.
All three of these books are delightful. The characters are strong and the plots move forward quickly with great twists and turns. No matter what your age, you'll turn these pages as quickly as possible and then move on to the other books in these series.
