A great, funny, charming family film. The cast of reasonable names (skinny John Cena Channing Tatum, Zendaya and the thoroughly detestable James F-ing Corden, boosted by Danny DeVito and others) don't detract from the story and make this a quite immersive enjoyable heart-warming family film. A Disney touch was added by including some songs that wouldn't have looked out of place in Moana or Frozen and helped keep the kids entertained.

Dean (6927 KP) rated The Invention of Lying (2009) in Movies

Oh dear this looked ok from the trailer. Thought it would be a mix of Liar, Liar with Bruce Almighty. Unfortunately it was no where near as funny as those two. In fact for a comedy apart from the main plot running through the film, it tries to be a bit too serious for a comedy. As a result not that much to laugh at here. I expected a lot better and was let down.

Loving a lady assasin
I was extremely skeptical when I started watching this show. I did not have a ton of background information on what it was about. I was hooked almost immediately. Both the detective and the assasin are smart asses which also makes the drama very funny. Definately worth a watch.

Oddball comedy
A strange comedy for adults that is part spoof, part panto with quite a good cast surprisingly. There is a fair bit of gore, swearing, rude references, nudity and reasonable cgi for a film of this type. Overall though it's missing the main ingredient, being funny with most of the jokes just not that good. A strange type of film, rather childish and silly with a few redeeming qualities but not many!
A worthy adaptation of an excellent comic
A really enjoyable, filthy, dark and funny series. Some excellent portrayals of really twisted characters and a great real world take on what would happen if superheroes were real. A number of liberties were taken (Hughie not being Scottish for one, Karl Urban's accent for another) but all in all a really brilliant TV show that ended too soon, but clearly has so much more to come.

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated We Came First: Relationship Advice from Women Who Have Been There in Books
Dec 31, 2019
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
This book was funny, poignant, and fiercely feminist.
What if you could go and ask the women of history for advice? Well, now you know! From Wallis to Pocahontas to Josephine questions about relationships are asked an answered.
This book was so much fun to read that my only complaint was that it didn't last longer!

Reagan Elizabeth Grainger (288 KP) rated This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor in Books
Nov 15, 2019
Great book
This book is a diary of a doctor along with little snippets of his day it also mentions how his personal relationships where affected by his role, I personally would of liked more of this than you get in the book. The book has traffic moments as expected but also some very funny incidents and really shows Adam's character.

EmersonRose (320 KP) rated Knight of The Dead in Books

This book is somewhat outside of the general genre I read, but I am so glad I picked this book up. It was a unique story of the Zombie Apocolypse told by a close-knit family. This book shows you that medieval re-enactment fighters might just have the best chance of survival. The book is funny, action-packed, and pulls at your heartstrings. A great read! You can check out my full review here.

I absolutely loved watching this story about a teenage lad with autism looking for a girlfriend. In fact I binge watched the whole of the first season in one sitting. You really fall in love with his family as they work together to support this wonderful young man achieve his goals. It is both funny and moving and gives you a real insight into the life of someone with autism. I reccomend it!
