But it can get a whole lot…more irritating.
Her parents have decided to visit. They don’t know anything about magic, about Jessie’s new digs, or about the crazy crew living in and around Jessie’s house. She must do everything in her power to keep the truth away from them.
Which would be much easier without the unfelt presence lurking within Ivy House’s borders. It seems an enemy has figured out a way to magically bypass Ivy House’s defenses. Jessie is completely exposed.
The real battle, however, won’t be with the incoming force. It will be between Mr. Tom and Jessie’s mom, each intent on being the most helpful. Mr. Tom might have met his match, and he is not pleased.
Just when things were finally settling down, Jessie is in the thick of it again, and this time, the turmoil is all around her.
This series is so good! It’s so funny and quirky and a joy to read. The characters are you unique and funny you get so invested in what’s happening with them. Jessie and Austin need their head banging together really hard!! The only thing is that bloody room of killer dolls and the house finding it funny letting them put. I will now have nightmares of little killer dolls carrying knives and climbing trees 😂😂😂. Definitely a series to lighten up your reading load.

Hex Hall was funny, cute, and exciting. Sophie had a witty, slightly sarcastic interior monologue and it made it fun to read, even though the writing itself wasn’t good per se.
A very good aspect of Hex Hall was the mystery side. I had no idea who the “bad guy” was (there turned out to be more than one!) until the very end, and I had no idea what was going to happen.
My only complaint was the ending: it wasn’t very good. It left unanswered questions, and there was no closure. It just… ended. Like the ending of a chapter, it felt like there should have been at least one more paragraph. One more paragraph to make you feel like Sophie was confident and knew what she was doing, and that everything was going to turn out right. But… it ended slightly lame.
Except the ending (as in the very last two pages) Hex Hall was a light funny cute read, and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Content/Recommendation: Clean, some small descriptions of violence. Ages 12-18

Over the top or just silly fun?
Gord Brody (Tom Green) is a cartoonist trying to pitch an animated show to Hollywood execs. After failing, he goes home and has to live with his parents and brother Freddy (Eddie Kaye Thomas). His father (Rip Torn) doesn't approve of Gord's career path and pressures him to get a real job and move out. That is, Until Gord claims his dad is molesting Freddy which leads to drastic and hilarious consequences.
Sounds crazy right? Very weird and surreal but it makes me chuckle. Very silly toilet humour tbf and there are a few scenes that are a bit inappropriate and because of this, I’m not sure if tom green is bizarre, needs medical attention or a genius.
So was it over the top or just a bit of silly fun?

I am so torn on how to review/rate this film. This film is a remake of a Norwegian film, and the setting is moved to Colorado. The director of this film is also Norwegian, and it is apparent that this is the case from the beautiful shots of scenery.
Basically, Liam Neeson's character is taking out a drug network after they OD his son. It is amusing when he's committing the crimes, which is a very weird thing to say.
I don't know if it's funny enough to be considered a black comedy, but there are amusing/awkwardly funny parts. Midway through the movie, another drug network is brought into the picture, and I'm not sure it was strictly necessary.
I have to give a shout out to Tom Bateman, who plays Viking. After I got over the weird/pretentious American accent he was rocking, he reminded me of a lot of the people I know with his... interesting... viewpoints and parenting habits. I can't figure out if I liked this film or not. I think the further removed I get from seeing it, the more I like it.

Re-watched this film the other day and I really enjoyed it. When I first watched the film I felt, although I enjoyed watching it, it could have been better. I felt that they were trying to hard to be funny when they could have, and probably should have, made it more serious. You can still add humour to a film while still maintaining the serious elements. Sometimes, I felt that the humour that they included pulled away from the film. It made it so the stakes were not so high. Why would you be laughing and making jokes at a time like this? I don't know. That is just the opinion that I had when I first watched it. I think I enjoyed it more the second time. I don't know why but the funny moments didn't seem to bother me as much. It was still enjoyable to watch. I guess it just depends on what kind of mood you are in. Even so, the film is great and well worth the watch. But if you are after something deadly serious, I would not recommend. That is not what you get from Marvel movies.

Genuinely laugh out loud funny in parts
Surprisingly Good
Full disclaimer: I've never seen the Robin Williams's version of Jumanji.
This is another of those films that we've put on for "family time", I've had my knitting in my lap and my laptop or phone next to me ready to keep me occupied, and I've ended up being the one laughing loudest and sitting mouth agape in the exciting parts.
It was a genuinely funny film, some good slapstick moments for the younger ones and some more grown-up jokes for the adults. The cast worked really well together; they could have completely over-played their "real" personas in their computer game avatar parts, but it was actually very well done.
I would heartily recommend this to anyone looking for a film the whole family can enjoy - even if any of the actors aren't really your cup of tea, because I think they were all great in this - and one I would happily watch again. Even if my 5-year old has developed a weird obsession with Dwayne Johnson's muscles!!

On the surface Olivia Wilde’s feature length directorial debut looks like any other coming of age film about teenagers graduating high school – and you’d be right.
Molly (Beanie Feldstein) and Amy (Kaitlyn Dever) realise that despite all their A’s and hard work each should have spent more time drinking and going to parties, get ready for one wild night where the goal is to cram as much drunken debauchery in as possible.
There are some funny moments including; awkward discussions about masturbation and why you should always make sure the volume is down when connecting your phone to the aux cable. But outside of that it feels too similar to one film in particular, and I just couldn’t break away from it. Superbad for me is one of the best teen flicks of recent years, a laugh out loud comedy that had genuine flickers of drama. It was a joy to watch and one that has always stuck with me as one of the funniest.
I just didn’t get that same feeling with Booksmart, while their were some funny and tender moments I couldn’t help but think all that was missing was a female version of Fogell.

Steve Carrell as the out of work, stay at home dad and Jennifer Garner as the stressed out on the go working mom are funny and quick witted.
There were lots of funny situations and lots of laughs from the audience as we follow the family through a day that is ‘cursed’ upon them by the midnight wish of their middle child Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) on his birthday.
Alexander wishes that his family, for once, would understand what it is like to be in his shoes and have a ‘Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’.
What ensues is mishap after mishap for each member of their family, and ultimately, the lesson that no matter what, family is first and families need to stick together to overcome challenges.
I loved the movie, and my 6 year old liked it too, even though many of the jokes in dialogue were over his head.
I would give this movie 4 out of 5 stars, as a great family film, and great fun.
