Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood

Even if you've seen the movie - I still recommend reading the story! It's a sonnet to true friends, and family (especially mother-daughter dynamics), the scars of abusive relationships, and how these all intertwined can shape and change everyone involved. It's also funny! :)

Siddalee delves into her mothers past, curious about the Ya-Ya Sisters and their secrets. She finds out so much about her mother, and in addition, about herself. Her mother just might grow up a little along the way as well.

I love the Ya-Ya stories and I re-read them often, hoping Rebecca Wells might just write another!

Unexpectedly good
Ok I wasn't sure I was going to like it. The beginning didn't endear me to the characters, and seemed a bit too far fetched even for a fantasy novel. However I kept reading and found myself not wanting to put it down. The author writes in a rich descriptive poetic style, very beautiful at times and when it's not, it's mildly funny and a little crude.
It certainly does not lack depth in any of the characters, which was what concerned me at the beginning. The plot is skilfully woven together and left me wanting more.

A Christmas Baby (Rogues Club, #4)

A nice close to the Rogue series, if, and I hate be redundant, a bit unoriginal. The characters were nice, there were some funny moments, and the plot was good, but it didn't touch me like other romances do. However, I did like the whole Christmas thing at the end, it was cute if rather saccharine.

One of my main problems was that this series must have the worst editors. In all four books there are missing quotation marks, sentences that aren't clear, and misspelled/or forgotten words. I would hope that these would be minimal.

Just when I thought I didn't have any more patience for Young Adult fiction, along comes this book. A book so funny, so sweet, so true that it has made me give the genre another chance. The main character, Finbar Frame, is absolutely endearing in all his geekiness and attempts at being cool by becoming a vampire. The plot is simple and it's no surprise where the story goes or how it ends, but it is Finbar himself that makes the book a delight to read. Bloodthirsty is a very short and easy read that was most enjoyable.

Fast, funny, absurd, and thoroughly enjoyable, Charlie All Night is a fun-filled romp filled with great characters! This is my first Jennifer Crusie book and I can't wait to read more from her, especially since I've heard her newer books are even better. While the bit of mystery isn't real strong, Ms. Crusie's flowing plot and zany characterizations are wonderful, and more than make up for it. In some ways, this book reminds me of early Janet Evanovich romances, although Jennifer Crusie's have a more timeless feel to them. A very nice, light read to curl up with. :)

Fantastic
I absolutely love this game! This was brought to our group by one of our volunteers and it was an instant hit.

I like it because it’s played I similar format to Cards Against Humanity but can be adapted to use with a group of friends with a very dark sense of humour but will also work with a group where the humour is very light. Basically you could play it with your friends or your nan and it would work.

I have recommend this game to all of my friends, it really is that good!

Need an evenly divisible number of people to make teams (0 more)
Get your team to guess words or phrases on a stack of cards.

The first round is like catchphrase, because you can say anything other than the actual word to get people to guess it.

The second round is like password, because you only get to say one word to get your team to guess. However, you are using the same cards as before, so everyone knows the possible answers,

The third round is charades, and you must act out the words, again using the same cards everyone knows.

More of what we've already seen
The first Hotel Transylvania was actually fairly good, but it's a shame that both of the sequels have been poorer carbon copies. This third film especially is just more of the same; silly dance offs and music and a predictable and poor plot which isn't even funny. There are a lot of animated films that have humour for both kids and adults, but sadly this film isn't one of them. I'm sure the kids love it, but I really hope this is the last Hotel Transylvania film we'll ever see.

fantastic read
This is the third book in this series by this author. This is the final book in this series and OMG what a final book this was. This is such a suspenseful story, I just couldn't put it down till I'd finished it. This is a sexy, funny, suspenseful story, that will keep you reading long into the night. Amazing characters with such intense chemistry between them. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author in the future.

fantastic read
This is the first book I've read by this author and it definitely won't be the last. This story has it all, funny laugh out loud moments, a very real feel and everyday modern issues. The characters were really well written and the story line around them was fantastic. The English slang is really well done and adds humour to the characters. This book will hook you from the first page. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
