"Everyone asks me if Nebraska influenced my work. The truth is, no. "Atlantic City" influenced my work, but as a whole, Nebraska isn’t a record that ever connected with me. I don’t know why, and I’m not saying it’s a bad record. I just don’t jive with it. I got sucked into The Ghost of Tom Joad on a road trip I took when I first graduated from high school. It was my first time leaving on my own and taking off for a few days. On that trip I listened to this record, front to back, about 100 times. The song “Highway 29” is still probably my favorite Bruce song ever. I don’t know what it is about this record that makes me love it so much, but to me, it’s some of Springsteen’s finest work and surely overlooked."

"Because I’m half Spanish, I want to add a Spanish film, which I think is a film from the ’70s which is called Raise Ravens — I think was the English title. Cria Cuervos, with Geraldine Chaplin. It’s a film by Carlos Saura, a famous Spanish filmmaker. This is a very peculiar film because it’s a ghost story. It’s a young girl [played by Ana Torrent who is fantasizing. You are in the head of a girl the whole time, and it deals with child visions. Nightmares. It’s a very spooky film, but it also reflects very well Spain at the time and of mysteries within families, and mysteries that go on from one generation to the other. It’s a fascinating film that many people don’t know about. That’s why I want to point that one out as well."

Movie Rating Watch

To start of the first working day of May (thank you bank holiday Monday), I whizzed out from work to see Ghost in the Shell. I honestly thought I'd missed it, but luckily they had one showing on for a couple of days just after work. So it was a Tuesday double. I liked it as a film, story line wasn't bad and I liked the effects... what I did not like was her diving off buildings every chance she got. There were a lot of shots where the background suddenly comes rushing at you... if you have vertigo that is induced by things like that, this is not the film for you. I felt a bit queasy every now and then, I'm hoping I didn't miss anything good while I was looking at the floor!

Amazing series!!

Since series 1 I was hooked from the way that franky developed as a character to the way that bee did and actually formed strong relationships with the people around her. You do have moments through the series where you asked why things happen? Why have they killed off specific people. Recently happening in this latest series and wanting to shake some of the characters in it to wake them up. Allie Novak especially what is she doing!! Think there should be her seeing a ghost in the storyline so that she can be bought out of Marie's shadow.... spoilers are in the above do apologise but it's a must see!!
