Objectively, I feel the book deserves 4 stars, but gr ratings are supposed to be based on your enjoyment, which was a 1 or 2 for me.

I’ve read other books featuring mental illness, the aftermath of atomic bombs, self harm, abuse. I don’t know why I felt so repulsed by this one, but I did. It isn’t a bad book-it’s very good actually, but I hated it.

This was an ARC I received in a giveaway. (Not via goodreads)

From Goodreads: Is it just me, or did this story go way too fast? I felt like I didn't get to know the characters at all, and the book was a little over 200 pages. At every point in the story, it was like I couldn't figure out how we got from Point A to Point B. How did I end up finishing this? I would've put this down in a heartbeat, but I didn't. I guess that's my bad luck.

My favourite reading app
I mostly use Goodreads for my own benefit, just to keep track of books I have read.
I also love being in competition with myself, so every year I set myself a reading challenge and see if I can beat the previous year.
I also love the fact that I can create my own book shelves and organise my books how I like.

I use the goodread app regularly so that I can see my reading progress of the year and see the ratings of the books I want to read. Very easy to use and you can follow friends and authors to keep up to date with releases etc. The only thing I don't like with goodreads app is that you couldn't see the giveaways that were taking place, but now they are mainly US only giveaways.

From Goodreads: This story I found to be quite boring. Mia does have a backbone, and she seems to know what she wants, but I don't know how she finds Kenyon so appealing. All I saw in him was a pompous d-bag. I mean, at least he never cheated on a woman, I guess. For a novella, there was barely in action in it. Romances like these seem to get lamer and lamer the more I read them. Huh, I wonder what that says about me.

I won this ARC from a Goodreads Giveaway and because of all the great buzz it had already I was really excited to get it. I loved the way the chapters alternated between Sadie and West and I really loved that the ending wasn’t tied up in a nice little package. It felt more realistic which I enjoyed. I would recommend this book to someone and I’ll probably pass it off to a coworker who was really interested in it once I described it.

Lots of development possible
I'm a big fan of the social media platform Goodreads because I'm a bookworm. However, the app itself leaves me consistently disappointed. It's generally a 'buggy' platform and often gives the message 'unable to load' particularly in relation to seeing comments on your reviews. I've had this app for 5 years across a number of devices and this is a consistent issue. The platform works flawlessly on desktop. Much needs to be done to reach the desktop level of efficiency.

I've been reading a lot of Goodreads' "MM Romance" Group shorts of late, this being the fourth? in the last week or so, and I've liked them all.

With this one I have to admit that if it had just been the gig, the confession and the sex I would have given it five stars.

But since it was a little longer than that and we met the rest of the band and a few other people I'm going to give it four stars.

It was cute!

Fantastic for book worms
For anyone who loves to read, this app is a must. It has a very friendly user interface that lets you keep track of the books you read and also those of your friends, as well as quick and easy ratings and reviews.

I love that it gives you the option to choose books to add to your "to read" list and it does well in tracking the ones you're currently reading and the dates when you start and finish. Very helpfully, it also gives you the option to create your own shelves and I use this to keep track of the books I own - very useful!

Other features too work well, like reading suggestions, groups and even the Goodreads book awards. My favourite feature those is the Goodreads book challenge. It's such a fun thing to set yourself a reading challenge for the year and it easily tracks your books to make sure you're on track.

The app works really well, especially on Android, although my only criticism is that sometimes the search functionality doesn't bring back the results you'd immediately expect based on your criteria.

It's the only way I can keep track of what I'm reading and what I need to read!
