I totally didn't notice this was religious fiction when I entered the giveaway, but figured I'd give it a chance anyway. Besides, I still enjoy the Chronicles of Narnia.

Okay, I reached 130 pages out of 240 and I just cannot read anymore. While there are some interesting ideas within, this reads like a rough draft. Too much happens too fast for anything to sink in as nothing is fleshed out. It's all a series of "and then this happened and then this," etc, and mostly just telling instead of showing. Characters need more than a name to make them feel alive, scenes need more than just an action or two, and the story just felt lifeless. Sorry, I tried.

Received through Goodreads First Reads giveaway, along with a lovely bookmark.

Great organizational system (0 more)
Confusion between versions of books (0 more)
A great app to organize and share book recommendations
I have used Goodreads for years, and when they came out with an app I immediately downloaded it and it has made things much easier! The fact that I can just go to the library or a bookstore and scan into the app to add it my lists is very convenient! Hook up with friends or other book lovers, join groups and follow reviews, both of friends and authors alike. I wish there wasn't so much confusion as to verisons of books, some books are listed several times whether its the kindle version, or hardcover... and it's a bit difficult sometimes to find new books. But overall, really pleased with the app!

I won this book from the Goodreads First Reads giveaways. I wasn't sure what to expect as I've only read one other book quite a few years ago by this author. I remember that I liked the book but I have not picked up any of her other books to read in the interim. I loved loved loved this book. It focuses on Cecilia (Cece) and her life after she the death of her best friend. She makes some changes in her life and makes some new friends that she probably never would have met and goes on a road trip with them that resolves some issue in each of their lives. I absolutely recommend this book to others. It was enjoyable and I didn't want it to end.

I have used the Goodreads app for years and it is a great way to keep track of how many books you've read and which books you want to read. It has the yearly reading goal which you can set the amount of books you want to read in the year and try to reach your target. You can also have friends on there a bit like how you do on Facebook and everyone reviews/rates books they've read. This is good for knowing the best rated books as everyone can read the reviews. They often also do giveaways which is a bonus, I won a book on there a couple years ago that is now one of my favourites, however the giveaways can only be found on the website not the app.

4.5 stars.

These kids and just the whole "family" Kat has are amazing. Geniuses!

Not my favourite book in the series, since they didn't steal a painting or a jewel or anything as valuable or famous, but just the ability to come out on top and pull off the impossible (as usual!) has given it that flair (and me, a huge smile).

I've been reading some reviews on Goodreads and it seems people thought this was going to be a trilogy but after reading this I've realised there are still a few unanswered questions floating about so I hope the author will write another story in which we find out Hale's first names and the identity of Visily Romani.

I may also have to try the authors Gallagher Girls series too!

CALLING ALL BOOK READERS!

I am looking for independent book reviewers, who in return for a free review copy, would be willing to post a review to help guide future readers in whether or not to purchase a copy.

Reviewers should be prepared to write a fair and balanced review and to post this on a book platform such as Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub, Google Books etc. If you also have your own website where you regularly post book reviews, that would also be wonderful.

I request that every reviewer clearly states that their review was undertaken in exchange for a free review copy provided by the author.

I’ve created a simple form where you can get in touch and express interest in receiving a review copy. - https://forms.gle/7FSRKubpsWVXnXMA9

This is another of those books where I've had it for years on my Kindle and just never had the urge to read it. So, yes, this is being used for another challenge on Goodreads. This one is another A-Z challenge but for Paranormal Romances and Urban Fantasy books.

I think one thing that put me off is this books lack of a proper description on Goodreads as seen above. You really do have no idea what it's going to be about. I have done a bit of searching and found a better more evolved description.

I assumed this would be about vampires with the name but it's not. Just people who live a really long time that call themselves Immortals. Nastasya - Nasty to her friends - comes to realise that she's hanging out with a bad crowd after her best friend of hundreds of years breaks a mans back for no reason. She seeks out a fellow Immortal she met about 50 years ago who offered to take her in and spends time at her sanctuary.

Nasty goes from being a careless party girl to someone who actually doesn't mind working and likes being busy. She begins to have proper friends and people who care about her and who she cares about. She feels like she has a purpose in life again.

I'll admit I liked this more than I thought I would. It dragged me in and I was intrigued by how Nasty and a certain blond Viking type Immortal, Reyn, knew each other. It took about 80% of the book to figure it out and then, though they knew they should hate each other, they were still drawn to each other. I am VERY interested in seeing what happens next with this lot.

I cannot wait to continue this series.

Written in the Blood was a mystical, thrilling, gripping adventure that feels like it takes place far away in a distant land, but like it could also take place right in your hometown. The mystery never dissipates, even as the story continues to grow and develop. Even as I learned more about these strange people and their strange enemies, it was like they still remained a marvelous mystery.

The climax was shocking, the conclusion was beautiful and full of hope. I loved every minute of the adventure and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a kick-ass heroine and good plot with a hint of the supernatural in their life.

apparently this is the second book in the series, but I didn’t know until I looked it up on Goodreads. It was wonderful by itself.

Recommendation: ages 17+ for intense scenes

When I started reading this, I did not have very large expectations. I'd never heard of the author but when it popped up on my Goodreads, I thought I might aswell give it a chance.
I'm so glad I did! The character, Harley, is a spunky 19 year old who has an amazing fiery attitude. When she meets Wade, I expected her to become this sappy girl - like a lot of female characters can become - but he seems to make her even more fiery, which makes for hilarious reading.

The general pace of the plot is fantastic, you're constantly left wondering what is going on but in a good way and the twist at the end is perfect and definitely unexpected.

I would definitely recommend this book. It's easy to read and enjoyable. I'm well into the second instalment and I am hooked!!!

I won this book through a Goodreads Giveaway and somehow never received it. I contacted the author and she was sooo very gracious to send me out another copy, thank you so much!! You are Awesome!!! :)

From the moment I started reading, I was drawn into the story. The chaotic life of a working Mom and her crazy work life! The anxiety of trying to balance kids, husband, a horrid boss, meeting after meeting, added job duties and then an old flame from the past that she still has unanswered questions about. Sophie was a likable and easily understandable character. I have felt the same way sometimes in regards to certain things.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and cannot wait for a new book, Kate Hilton is a very talented and wonderful author!! Please keep them coming!!
