When I read the description of School Lies by Kimberly G. Giarratano on Goodreads I could not wait to start it. “Guilt, lies, and betrayal–all before first period.” What a great tagline.
Unfortunately I thought the book was just OK, 2 stars using Goodreads’ rating system. There seemed to be a lot left out of the story. It felt as if it was only allowed to be a certain length and much of the story needed to be deleted to fit the length or if this was a second book in a series where I had not read the first book.
I could not relate with the characters and the story felt as if there were gaps in it. I would have stopped reading except the writing was adequate and I did not hate the book. Also, the page was less than 300 pages so I was well into the story and did not have much left before I thought of stopping. The book has a high rating on Goodreads, 4.0, and I would be willing to give Kimberly G. Giarratano a 2nd read but I would not put her at the top of my “authors to try again” list.
Review published on Philomathinphila.com, Smashbomb, Goodreads, Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble on 2/24/19.

This was a first reads giveaway. Not a book that would have caught my attention at the bookstore, I'm glad it was offered on goodreads, otherwise I would have missed it. Some parts of the story drug on a little, but overall this was a pleasant read.

Extremely disturbing
I won this book on Goodreads and had heard great things about it, the book definitely had a buzz. The writing style was good and made it very easy to be extremely creeped out and uncomfortable at the main characters thought process and actitons.

Great way to keep track of everything you’re reading (4 more)
Motivational and keeps you on track of your goals
SUPER ORGANISED (for nerds like me who like to categorise everything)
Great way to make friends with similar interests and meet new people
Book clubs and groups for every genre - a home for everyone
Goodreads - Great App
I could go on and on about Goodreads and how great it is. I have yet to find any kind of book related app/website that is as superior and easy to navigate. It’s an incredible app to use for anyone who likes to keep their reading organised and likes to set reading goals. My only qualm is that the app doesn’t have full access to all of the amazing things on Goodreads, some have to be accessed by the website - however that being said, you have access to the important parts which enable you to keep on top of your reading on the move!

I received this book as a Goodreads First Reader. This book is actually really good! The stories seem to be classic horror stories and leave the reader to come up with their own conclusions for each story. I would recommend this book to every fan of the horror genre. This will not disappoint!
