Though subpar and at times annoying to watch, they did somehow manage to ramp up the gore. Squishy elevator head

Old school physical effects with loads of gore plus some comedy thrown in for good measure. Love it.

Watching the Argento Cut of the release, enjoying it. Seems to have more gore, less comedy and more seriousness.

Gore for the sake of it (0 more)
A good horror film but overhyped. I didn't think it was any more gory than most other recent horror films. Seen far more gore in many low budget horrors. The story is pretty good and has a couple of twists, something a little different for Horror fans.

Gore
Would have given this movie a higher rating if for the fact nic cage actually spoke during the movie dont get me wrong nic cage best part of the movie but basically doesn't speak. The plot is silly but there are plenty of gore on show could have been a better movie

Superb stalk and slash with Savini effects
Tonight's viewing is this little gem from the 80s. Standard stalk and slash who dunnit with a very predictable killer but it's the work of gore wizard Tom Savini that's the real star here and what separates it from the other many slasher films made during the 80s and 90s. He gives us so many amazing death scenes with effects that hold up 37 whole years since release. A must watch for slasher fans and gore hounds!
