Good gory fictional historical events that could have been shorter.
Been looking forward to this one for a while. While I enjoyed the film overall. the story took too long to develop in some spots. Characters felt a little hollow and depended on the World War II setting to get the viewer to understand them. That being said, once the story hit its mark, the action was fast and furious. Some truly amazing visual effects. Not for the weak stomached in the least. A good, gory fictional take on historical events that could have been helped with shorter run time.

A few genre flipsides

More treat than trick
This definitely plays tribute to the original in many ways. With certain scenes, settings and especially the music. These are nice touches and definitely tie it in as a new direct sequel to the original.
I was surprised a lot of the kills weren't that gory and quite often not on screen. Often leaving the horror for your mind to image. Overall a good film although the ending felt a bit abrupt, but I liked the little details put in.

By today's standards only one was gory. That's another way in which it's similar to the first.

Another, like Snakes on a Plane, that is exactly what it was meant to be and to a wonderfully inappropriate and incredibly gory level. Though the splatter leans far more toward the silly side, there are a couple truly painful moments, a trademark of Aja

Totally over the top action
OK low budget comic book horror
Part of the the grindhouse feature with Death proof, although I preferred that over this just. If you like like gory, zombie like stories with crazy plots, this is for you.

In a world filled of garbage Twilight knockoffs, this book was a refreshing change to the ranks of modern day vampire novels. Instead of the usual gory, smutty drivel, this book focuses on a family of vampires trying to blend into modern day England.

A so-so horror comedy with a good array of UK acting talent on show. Ok in parts, it has some funny scenes and quite gory in places. Overall just not quite as polished as Severance, Shaun of the dead. One mainly for the guys.

A decent idea but not done to it's full potential. A cross between Heathers with Hostel, without being as gory. Good message though, you start off cheering for one side but then feel sorry for those held captive. Not bad for a low budget horror.

Not as good as the last one, Bride of, getting very odd and running out of ideas now! A bit more gory than the last few, but otherwise a bit of a mess all round. The 1st and the 3rd were the best ones.

Strange film!
I decided to watch this film as the overall concept seemed ironic considering the current state of affairs here in England.
It has some gory moments but isn't a scary horror film
I enjoyed it, although I would have preferred a different ending
