A gripping and absorbing read.
THE ORIGINS is the fourth book in The Olason Chronicles but it takes you back to the beginning. I haven't read any of the other books but they are now on my TBR list.

The world Margret, Einar, and Magnus inhabit is richly detailed, both in landscape and also hardships. You stay with Margret as she follows her heart in directions not always immediately clear. The imagery the author gives you as they go about their day-to-day business is clear and concise, allowing you to live in the moment with them.

The pacing was perfect, giving you time to absorb all going on without any slow patches. This was a gripping and absorbing read that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

Utterly gripping, one of my favourite books this year. Set in a Swedish (I think!) hockey town. Everything revolves around ice hockey. Until a scandal rocks the very foundations of the town. It sets the truth against misplaced loyalties. Which is more important: the Team, or the truth?
I noticed that this was called Beartown in the US. I think I possibly prefer that as a title, however, I believe that The Scandal is closer to the original translated title.

Casino Royale is the first book in the James Bond Series. I’m sure everyone knows who that is.

I have absolutely nothing good to say about this book.

I was so excited to read this. The movies are pretty awesome and action-packed. I thought the book would be fast paced and gripping. This has been one of the most boring books I have ever read. Bond wasn’t suave, calculating, or deadly. He was just pure, dumb lucky. It was so disappointing.

This is a bone chilling page turner! Supernatural meets The Exorcist meets Law & Order in a gripping story that has just the right amount of humor, fear, suspense and resolution.

This book read like a dream. I couldn’t put it down. The story grabs your from the first page. There’s no boring build up. From the first paragraph your thrown into the fight.

This book leaves you ready for the next journey. Packed with everything needed to make a satisfying read and reader.

Not quite the story I was expecting - the book actually feels like bits of different stories have been randomly pieces together, often meaning things get a bit confusing.

As the story flows along, I also found myself liking the two main characters less and less, to the point of indifference, which makes the twist ending fall a bit flat.

There are some gripping moments along the way and the book is easy to read, but I can’t help feeling a little disappointed overall.

You're beautiful.
I watched this when it was first aired and I thought it was fantastic. It battles real life problems and something any girl/woman can relate to.
It makes you laugh, cry, hate, love and just about everything else. All the characters have been casted Brilliantly but I will say that Rae is acted absolutely perfectly, Sharon Rooney is such a terrific actress and she makes the show a must watch.
It's gripping, heartbreaking, soul warming and definitely recommended.

I thought this book would ruin the Throne of Glass series as Chaol was one of my least favourite characters up to that point but it astounded me in being really gripping, following both chaols problems as well as Nesryn and new character Yrene Towers who are both far more interesting characters than Chaol in my opinion. As always Sarah J Maas writes beautifully with plots you could never hope to see coming. Can't wait for the next installment in the series.

I found the set-up of the book to be perfect (the writing, the plot, the characters, etc.) (0 more)
A blatantly honest, gripping story about family.
"It blew me away. I found myself constantly highlighting quotes from it, stopping to think about how incredibly relatable it is. It is a book not only about death and grieving, but the ghosts that follow you throughout your life. Anne Enright speaks your innermost unspoken thoughts, and she does so unapologetically." -my bookstagram account, rorythereader.
