The storylines are fantastic
Class series, a very good reason why it was adopted for American audiences
I devoured all three seasons of Broadchurch. It is beyond addictive and utterly gripping. The first two seasons hinge around the murder of a young boy, and how everyone becomes suspects around this tiny idyllic English town. While the third season is completely different, it does show some links to the previous seasons. The actors are incredible especially the grumpy senior detective David Tennant and the bubbly Olivia Coleman - the two are a match made in heaven.

Couldn't put this down
You know you're on to great book when you read 200+ pages in one evening sitting and have to tear yourself away to go to bed. This isn't a great literary masterpiece, but it's a fantastically gripping YA whodunit. The plot was interesting and I liked the structure, splitting it between each character's point of view. The main characters themselves are all well developed, flawed but still loveable. My only criticism is that I was slightly disappointed with the ending as I predicted it beforehand. But this is still a hugely entertaining read.

What a page turner! Yes the plot is a bit ridiculous and yes the characters lives are a bit bizarre, but you can't deny that this book is gripping the whole way through!

The twists and turns in this book are never ending and they're all completely shocking, though one in particular strikes you more than others. I'm definitely going to look into more Peter Swanson books after reading this one, I think he's an excellent writer and if he continues to write books as good as this I can easily see him becoming one of my favourite authors.

I really enjoyed this, despite having pre-existing ideas about Cole's writing. The story is very gripping and Cole does not use as many over-repeated phrases as her other books, although there is still a fair bit of Cockney slang written into it. (Some of which, I was forced to google!)

The anatagonist, George Markham, is a truly chilling character. The protagonist, Kate Burrows is a tough cop who's façade is only let down by her truly pathetic infatuation with the local mafiosa, Patrick Kelly.

Overall, a good read and very unputdownable. Shame Cole doesn't write like this all the time!

This was a set text for a University module and I have to say, if it hadn't been for that I probably wouldn't have finished it. I found it to be much below the usual standard of Morpurgo, severely lacking in any kind of gripping factor to make people want to read on. This could just be me, but the plot was flimsy, needed much more 'background' on the Spanish Civil War and generally, something a lot more plausible than a boy who is essentially in love with the bull. Not something I would recommend or read again myself.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!

What a fantastic first book in a new series - murder, suspense, action, intrigue, twists and turns aplenty and with the fantastic characters, perfect pace and gripping story line, this makes for one excellent book.

Highly recommended and I can't wait for the next one to see how Con develops and what she gets up to next.

Did I say I loved it?!?

Many thanks to the publisher, Wildfire (a part of the Headline Division of Hachette UK) via NetGalley for my copy in return for an unbiased review.

I love all films that are based on true stories and this one is no exception.A powerful and gripping movie that depicts the horrific events that unfolded in the streets and then in the hotel.

The depiction of the hotel staff who stayed behind to protect the guests as best they could was excellent (special mention to Dev Patel and Anupam Ker for their immense performances)

This is one of those movies that didn't get alot of coverage up to its release and probably went unnoticed by alot of people but it is essential viewing.

A Different Kind of Anime
A great read for anyone looking for a different kind of anime. You won't find any dappy romance here however. Rather you'll find blood and gore as the heroes face off against impossible enemies. If the action doesn't keep you interested the intriguing plotline will as you travel along with the heroes to find what exactly they're facing and if there's any hope of defeating the Titans. Be warned this is one of those stories where you're never sure which character is going to die next!

A very good 2nd series
I breezed through the 2nd series very quickly, again only 7 episodes long. Perry's Mum, the excellent Meryl Streep, turns up and has many questions about her sons death. Will the Monterey 5 be able to keep it together or will many things start to unravel for them? It's maybe not as dramatic as the first series storyline or have as many big reveals. However the writing is just as good and the story is gripping. If you liked the first series you should like this as well.

Twisty turny tech, Fear the AI
Not eloquently written by any means but oh not what a ride, the story is gripping edgy, nerve wracking and you just don't want to stop reading.
I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter to find out what was happening with Robert and Ambra or Julian and Bishop Valdespino or even Winston who was a charming addition to the story.
This will have you on the edge of your seat and in the end you will understand why everything happened as it did.
Highly reccomended reading.
