Cumberland (1142 KP) rated Forrest Gump in Books
Oct 4, 2018
The great thing about this book is that it is not contained to a single adventure. Even after reading it I don't understand how so many stories manage to fit into a single novel. Each of Forrest's stories flows nicely into the next. This causes the ridiculousness of each adventure to make perfect sense in the overall story.
Anyone who enjoys the movie needs to read this book. It is an easy to read masterpiece that stands far above other stories of its kind.
Ross (3284 KP) rated Thanos Rising in Books
Oct 24, 2018
Around half of the story deals with Thanos' childhood, growing up different on the perfect Titan and how this started to warp his mind, and then leads in to him travelling the universe exploring as a pacifist and siring numerous children (this section fitting in nicely with the Jonathan Hickman Infinity epic), finishing with his final arrival at Mad Tyrant Central.
Strong artwork throughout and a decent story make this a good attempt at putting some meat on the bones of Thanos' backstory.

The first 1/3-1/2 of the book was sort of random except I connected more to some bits but after the first half, I found more to connect with and then with the last few chapters, I found it enlightening and connected quite a bit to that part.
It's a bit like a collection of mini-memoir essays that talk about being a woman, a child, growing up, figuring things out and having an enlightening moment of rising above hard times, etc.
If you're looking for a short listen with some quirkiness memoir type stories and such then you might enjoy this.
Matthew Krueger (10051 KP) rated Peter Pan (1953) in Movies
Dec 16, 2019
The Plot: Wendy (Kathryn Beaumont) and her two brothers are amazed when a magical boy named Peter Pan (Bobby Driscoll) flies into their bedroom, supposedly in pursuit of his rebellious shadow. He and his fairy friend, Tinkerbell, come from a far-off place called Neverland, where children stay perpetually young. Enchanted, the kids follow him back. But when Pan's nemesis, the pirate Captain Hook (Hans Conried), causes trouble, the kids begin to miss their old life.
Its a phenomenal movie, with a great/fantastic/excellent message.

Brilliant film with all the right gore horror twist and turns!!
A mysterious man approaches a boat salvaging group and puts across an offer they can't refuse they all head out to find a big abandoned ship, everything goes to plan they find the boat but it doesn't make sense with the main actress seeing a little girl around the ship you soon figure out something definitely isn't right. The crew start dying and the story unravels with a very dark and gripping story line. Watching it again for probably about the 7th time I noticed what the bad guy says at the end about he was a sinner and he has been given a job to collect the souls, explaining why everything is happening. Amazing film good actors and brilliant story line!! This is a must watch!!!!!
