"This book is about the principles of timing and repetition—about preparing yourself for luck, really. He talks about a hockey team, and how the players born in January had a year up on the guys born in December. They were fortunate that their birthday was early, but they also practiced—they put the work in. The book resonated with me because I was born at a time when there was an influx of incredible music into the culture, and I was lucky that my mom and pop were huge record collectors. In my house, I had music by Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and the Commodores, and I'm listening to it every single day."

"This is tough because they are a lot of guys in here, but you know what we’re going to do? We’re going to go with The Court Jester. I feel that it’s a perfect movie and contains some of the best sword fighting ever. I’m not always on the Danny Kaye boat, but this is the one where it threads the needle. He’s genius in this movie, and the plot is gorgeous, and everybody in it is funny. It’s so beautifully constructed, and they’re singing, and the world’s greatest sword fight between him and Basil Rathbone. It’s utterly committed to being as silly as it can be and it works like gangbusters."

"I have three copies of Live Evil on vinyl because I play it so much. My favourite period of Miles Davis is from Bitches Brew to Big Fun, but in terms of the musicians on it, this is a compilation so you get almost every musician he played with in that period. Hermeto Pascoal is on it, and Airto Moreira – usually it's just one of those guys. John McLaughlin's on it, Billy Cobham my favourite drummer and Jack DeJohnette, my other favourite drummer. On the same song! Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Joe Dallin... you get all the greats of that period on one record. In terms of the Miles Davies free form jazz album, that's the one to get."

"I have an older sister and she was into things like Bros, New Kids On The Block and Kylie Minogue, and I think she ended up buying a few Cardigans records. We used to listen to them a lot. I remember being aware that the drums sounded really different to other bands. The production was incredibly good, it was catchy pop music. One of the guys involved, Peter Svensson went on to become Hollywood and write for Ariana Grande. I think it was probably the first of a few times when I realised that you didn’t have to be into production or catchy songs, you can be into both. All of their records are very good, I think."

I'm grinning like an idiot due to the end of that last chapter, not the epilogue, the chapter.

Amaranthe and Sicarius, sitting under a tree, K I S S I N G!

Ha ha! Took them long enough. So happy about that but at the same time him deciding that they wont pursue it until after they get pardoned by the emperor. That's another 4 books or so away! I love you guys!

Not forgetting the rest of the group, of course. You're all great but I think apart from Amaranthe and Sicarius that Maldynado is my favourite. I hope he gets his statue in the end!

Need to buy books 4-7 ASAP!

It's a pretty brutal but just-deserved ending to this story. Bad guys get their comeuppance, more secrets are revealed and answered and the debts are finally brought to an end.

I really enjoyed some parts of this, others made me wince in sympathy/pain at what they were going through but I have to admit it was one of the better endings I've read to a series, even if I didn't agree with one of the authors casualties. I cried friggin' buckets for a good twenty per cent at the end. That person shouldn't have died and should have gotten their own book because I liked them too much. :'(

As a big zac efron fan I was really looking forward to watching this. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. Basically it's about 3 single guys who make a vow to stay single after a string of bad relationships, however, they all soon enter into relationships and try to keep it a secret from one another. I love a good romantic comedy but this failed quite badly, even the scenes between zacs character and the woman he falls for quite tedious, there was very little between them that made me want them together and for a film that's supposed to be a comedy I didn't laugh once. Safe to say I won't be watching it again.
