Debbiereadsbook (1318 KP) rated When The Devil Wants In in Books

I LOVED this!
Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book.
When faced with a murder charge, John has to choose between his freedom, and his heart.
You know how sometimes, you read a blurb for a book, and your mind writes the plot out and its all wrapped up in a nice pink bow?? And then you read the BOOK, and your version is so very wrong but you have no idea why??
This book totally surprised me, and I cannot put my finger on WHY it did! I loved it!!
John is hiding in plain sight, driving 90 minutes to get his hook ups. Matt moves to Magnolia Ridge from San Fransisco, out and proud. But Matt knows he needs to reign it in. A hook up between the guys has both of them shocked and wanting more, so much more. A shocking discovery causes John to question what he really wants.
I loved both these guys. John, so far in the closet he's in the next room, and Matt who just knows when to say what about his sexuality. They both have their say, so we get every little bit that these guys feel, together and apart. I loved that Matt took to John's closed off-ness quickly, and without question.
The murder has you crying for John, it really does. And I was WAY off base with whodunnit, let me tell ya!! Did NOT see that one coming! I really love being proven wrong.
And I need to say something about that gorgeous cover. When I saw the cover FIRST, I thought its pretty, it nice, but somehow it doesn't fit. I had the blurb before I saw the cover. And I couldn't put my finger on WHY it didn't fit, still can't, truth be told, but that's what I felt, and ya'll know I gotta tell you what I'm feeling. And I'm reading the book, my brain is registering that they are in Magnolia Ridge, that there are magnolia blossom on the cover, I swear I knew that, but still it did not make any sense WHY they were on the cover!
Then! One word, one single word was all it took, and my brain exploded! Light bulb moment does not quite cover what went through my brain at that point! It was like a nuclear bomb going off, and that cover makes TOTAL sense now! Totally the right cover for THIS book.
Is there another book after this?? I feel with what John did for Matt's birthday, and the subsequent scenes kinda left me wanting more of a certain fellow!
Anyways, loved the book, loved the cover and read it in one single sitting, so...

A mind bending new take
This show was so fresh and offered an extremely interesting and original new take on the X Men universe. Dan Stevens and Aubrey Plaza are phenomenal as are the rest of the cast. The show was writing by the guys behind Fargo, so as expected it is a very well written script with sharp, meaningful dialogue and some genuinely shocking moments. There are some very experimental methods of filming used and for the most part they totally work with the surreal tone that the show achieves.
The only reason I can't score this a perfect 10 is because I found the ending of the first season to be very anti climatic after all of the clever, tightly woven build up. Still though, this is a great new show.

Stormi (105 KP) rated the Xbox One version of Call of Duty WWII in Video Games
Apr 20, 2018
Ok...I'm a girl and I guess it is just amazing when females play video games. I always get friend requests while I'm playing and the guys are like "hey, you are pretty good!"
Duh! I'm a girl and I can play too! LOL!
That being said.....I love this game. I have been a COD junkie for a long long time. I have played all the games and my favorite time of year is NOV. When the new game comes out each year. This game was and is awesome. It had a few glitch issues when it first came out, but I took a break for a while (oops, a few months went by, because well, LIFE) and when I came back the gameplay is so much better. Less glitches, great new weapons, new gear. This game is one of my favorites of the COD games.

Rosealinea (589 KP) rated A Star Is Born Soundtrack by Lady Gaga in Music

I won this album from a giveaway here on Smashbomb! I was absolutely delighted to receive it and as I am a Lady gaga fan, I couldn't wait to listen to it.
I popped it in and I'm really sad to say that I was very disappointed with it. There are a lot of talking snippets throughout the album, which didn't really seem to fit or make sense in any way. It left me feeling somewhat confused as it was a soundtrack.
As far as the music goes, I really wanted to like this album so much, but it was all very generic and samey throughout. The tracks seemed to run into one and I got bored listening to it, however, I listened to it in its entirety.
I'm really sorry to say that I would not recommend this album (Sorry guys)

Ho-hum attempt to disguise a load of war movie clichés by hiding them in an alien invasion SF movie, or possibly vice versa. Belligerent alien gits come storming up the beaches of California and it's up to Aaron Eckhart and his guys to hold the line.
Very much just a collection of other bits you've seen done better elsewhere, inasmuch they can be done better at all considering they're really not very impressive per se. Watching as a non-American, one is inevitably slightly put off by the uncritical wooh-yeah-hurray attitude towards members of the US armed forces, who are almost universally presented as flawless paragons of virtue, not to mention the post-9/11 subtext that sometimes it is morally justified to do Bad Stuff (torturing prisoners to death, that sort of thing) in the defence of America. Also quite boring.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Bare It All (Love Undercover, #2) in Books

OK so after the wait this book finally arrived and I wasn't disappointed. The story continues the day after Run The Risk . And centres around Alice and Reece with all the characters from the last book too and also Trace from A Trace Of Fever
Reece knows Alice is hiding a secret past and would like to get to know her a little better but she blanks him at every opportunity until Alice is drawn to Reece's dog Cash. Reece soon realises that Cash is a bit of a hand full and so asks Alice to help with the dog sitting during the day while he's at work. Alice eagerly agrees and when the bad guys turn up at Reece's apartment its Alice that helps to save the day.
A really good read and I can't wait for the next one, Getting Rowdy

The main sticking point for me in this movie was the fact that the friendship between the main characters seemed completely superficial. But, I don't think that in reality the relationship between the guys was that way, so I'll give a pass on that.
The cast in the film was amazing, and the comedic timing, in most cases, really worked. I'll watch Jon Hamm in anything, honestly.
Some of the scenes were shot very much like Guy Ritchie scenes, and it was really hilarious given the situation. The CGI on Jeremy Renner's arms was really good, considering he had two broken arms during the shooting.
The thing I think I liked the most is that at the end, they actually showed videos of the real-life friends tagging each other. And, the movie actually utilized some of the costumes, it was great to see.

Bit of a whirlwind
Honestly from the start to the end of this there was just so much drama and honestly I LOVED IT !?? It was the perfect thing to watch after watching me before you as even though they are love story's they are both so different and yet both so great.
The series follows the forbidden romance of a Russian noble and a lieutenant. But if you think this is just a rehash of the typical Romeo and Juliet think again. In this series the main characters battle against all odds to remain together. The only bad thing i could say is that it was so frustrating when something stopped them from being together ? i almost punched my pillow at one point ??.
I really recommend this to you guys to if nothing else try something new of course that's only if you like subtitles.?
