I can't lie - I felt a thrill when I realized Tarryn had written from Leah's point of view, after I freaked out, of course! As much as I hate Leah, I loved reading from the villain's perspective. All the twists and turns, all the lies, it was all in epic proportions and there was no way I could predict what was next. Despite that tiny thrill, I was happy to get away from her evil thoughts and endless plots.

Oh Thor The Dark World. How I love you and hate you at the same time. I love you because you made Thor a real character for me. He wasn't this cheesy and over the top figure who we didn't really rally behind. So I appreciated that. I also really liked the concept of this film. Loki is a great character in this movie. I don't like the pacing or the villain of this film. It's not great.

I have to say that The Forever Purge certainly keeps to the flow of the franchise, I did find it a little uneasy at times with its portrayal of how some people in society hate others for the colour of their skin, the country they are from and other ways that people can easily be so evil to fellow humans, but this is the idea of the film and getting that across works very well.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Bernard Cornwell adaptations.

I (generally) like his books.

I've yet to encounter a good adaptation, with the possible exception of the 90s Sharpe series (with Sean Bean), although those definitely needed a bigger budget!

This is loosely based on Cornwell's 'Warlord' trilogy - The Winter King, Enemy of God and Excalibur - which Cornwell himself views as his best works.

They're a 'realistic' retelling of the Arthurian stories, basically.

I had a love hate relationship with the novel. The hate comes from my annoyance with the certain character traits. I don’t enjoy the “tortured” heroes/heroines who push people away because they feel they don’t deserve love or have done terrible things in the past. However, I loved the strong female lead and her willingness to take things into her own hands to get things done and the sassy male lead who didn’t know what hit him. The hero actually ended up being one of my favorites to date particularly for his ability to realize he is not infallible and must correct his own wrongdoings/misconceptions.

Overall, it was an enjoyable novel. The pity parties got old, but I enjoyed watching the main couple fall in love. It was an easy kind of love that happened over time rather than forced. Not to mention the female lead had a brain on her shoulders. Always a plus in my book!

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

This was what I was looking for in an adult suspense novel. It was thrilling. The characters were not likable in a way you were still somehow rooting for. I honestly have no idea why I like Amy, why she is my favorite character in this book even though she is cunning and manipulative and sadistic, but I do. Flynn did a phenomenal job writing these characters in a way that I hate to love them, and love to hate them.

There were not many slow parts to this book. The plot twists just kept coming, hitting me in the face over and over and over which was so brilliant. I loved it.

I love not knowing what is going to happen next. I think it worked very well in this book, because thinking back, I could see where it was going. But in the moment, I had no idea. It was brilliant.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read more of Gillian Flynn's books.

Woody Harrelson. He is just brilliant.
Even a whimp like me can enjoy this!
So i first saw this on a zombie night with friends, no idea what possessed a whimp like me to participate in a zombie night but they assured me I'd like this one. They were right.
It has the odd jumpy bits which i can tolerate. This is where I usually hate a film, i HATE to be made to jump, this one does here and there but its nothing major. It's obviously got blood and guts which isn't actually what I'm bothered about.
Out of the zombie films around, its refreshing to see one that's not about the imminent death, but the survival and camaraderie of living in such a place. Reminds me of Shaun of the Dead in that respect, not about making the audience scared but laugh.
Because I'm a major whimp and i enjoy it, it speaks volumes that it's a decent film lol. Definitely recommend it and cannot wait to watch the sequel!

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil co-parenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.

But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Ok so I read this to see how the second half was going to go I’m not a huge fan of these characters at all and I absolutely hate Ryle I wasn’t overly impressed with this one it wasn’t terrible but it just wasn’t great either especially when people have it on a pedestal.
