"It’s very hard for me to prepare for something like this because I collect non-stop, discover new things every day, and take music very seriously. I hate the technological rip-offs that pass for music formats these days, and go back to vinyl to hear a good record because the sound is always so much fuller. “I don’t even like listening to music in the car. But iIt would be ridiculous not to mention Kate Bush as someone who creates a powerful dreamscape and a great mood, but I also love Traffic, the pop textures of Marc Bolan, and all kinds of techno."

Jack McBrayer recommended Jaws (1975) in Movies (curated)

Jaws (1975)

"Jaws was the first scary movie I ever saw. Even though I did hate it and it made me scared of sharks, it stuck with me. Every time it’s on, I do have to watch it. Especially now that you know the behind the scenes stuff. The shark didn’t work. So then it became a creative choice to just not show the shark until two-thirds in. It was freezing cold and these people had to be in the ocean. Then, the ocean was freezing so these people were freezing cold and raining and all of that kind of stuff. It just made it more movie magic for me."

"Horror of Dracula. First of all, the match up of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee was so brilliant. They were so great together. Plus, the ending — I hate to say this, because you’ve to see it — when Dracula has Van Helsing at his mercy, and the sun’s come up outside, and Van Helsing tears down the curtains, so the sun comes streaming in, and then takes two candlesticks and forms a cross. It’s just so cool. And I think that’s the first time anybody ever did that in a movie; now they do all kinds of versions of that thing. But I just thought that was pretty brilliant writing."

I don't even know what to say. Victoria's got me in a book funk! I had so many mixed emotions while reading this, I honestly didn't know what to feel. I can tell you that sadness and anger were the 2 prominent emotions. Part of me feels bad for Mare, but a part of me just wants to knock her upside the head and put some sense into her. She's so bitter and cold - honestly, I hate to say it, but I don't think I'd be upset if there isn't an HEA... I believe she's too traumatized to actually live a full life if she even survives.

Game Night (2018)
Game Night (2018)
2018 | Comedy, Mystery
A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find themselves trying to solve a murder mystery.

As Unlimited Screenings go this is a good one. It's always refreshing when a comedy is more than just the laughs in its trailer. Everyone was laughing, it was a real crowd pleaser.

Both Bateman and McAdams are winners in films of theirs that I've seen, and they make the perfect couple that you love, but at the same time hate just a little bit because they're soooooo perfect.

A solid film to round the month off with, I don't think anyone could go to this and not laugh at something.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Idle game. I don't hate games that just end, and then you restart to play all over again, but games that just play on and on are so cool. Especially with Nintendo where they update every month or so with new features and characters. I've always loved Animal Crossing but the graphics are so much better and we still have all the loveable characters. #iloveraymond. It can get a bit boring doing the same thing over and over, but its worth getting the Nintento pass to visit other towns and now with the dream update, you can steal ideas from people and change your island to your own style!

American Idiot by Green Day
American Idiot by Green Day
2004 | Alternative, Punk
Rolling Stone's 225th greatest album of all time
For some reason I wasn't looking forward to listening to this. It became cool to hate Green Day not long after this album and I haven't tried much of their subsequent material, despite being a massive fan when Insomniac and Nimrod came out. This album was a very pleasant trip down memory lane. When September Ends isn't great but the sprawling Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming are rock operas to rival Queen and Meatloaf. There are enough stomping diet punk anthems to satisfy their fans plus enough masterful songwriting in those songs to please any rock fan.
