"What touched me about that was the friendship. In a very weird sort of way there are some similarities between my films — probably pretty-much The Firm — and Midnight Cowboy, only inasmuch as it’s a hard world but soft characters. There’s something about that friendship with two people that transcends where the film’s set. I have friendships where you’re like two old women, nagging away at each other, and you kind of hate each other in a lot of ways but you’re inextricably embroiled with one another. That’s what true friendship is, you know. There’s such a tragedy about Midnight Cowboy as well and there’s such an amazing smell of New York in the 70s. It’s one of the few films where it transports you there and you can feel the environment."

"I typically don’t like Western-type movies that much, but Red Hill. I really enjoyed that. I’m very picky about the bad guy, and whether or not he looks intimidating to me, you know? Like, I saw the I Spit on Your Grave remake, and all of the bad guys looked like soap opera actors that let their stubble grow. They didn’t have the aura of being a badass. And I’m sorry to those actors. They’re probably going to ****ing hate me, but this didn’t come across as intimidating or scary or anything, or even convincing as criminals, whereas this guy in Red Hill was the best bad guy I’ve seen in a long time. Just when he would look, he would look scary as ****. I love a bad guy that really convinces me."

Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983)

Let me start out with this: yes, I love space bears. Ewoks are my favorite alien species out of the entire universe.
Return of the Jedi is my favorite out of the original trilogy, and it's the one I've watched the most, with A New Hope coming in second. I thought it was awesome that Leia dressed up as the bounty hunter to free Han.
The scenes on Endor are my favorite, because it reminded me of the woods my grandmother lived in. This specific film inspired a lot of the stories I wrote as a kid.
Now, I do have a beef with the remastered versions: I absolutely HATE the 'NOOOOO' from Darth Vader when he goes for the Emperor, it's the worst and it makes me cringe every time I hear it.

I didn't hate this film as much as I hated the first two but I am crediting that to Philip Seymour Hoffman. That man is as talented as they come and left this earth far too soon. I think this is the best of the first three. I love that they brought back Luther. I loved what he added to the second one and I hope he stays consistent in the next few films. My favorite character was Benji - I thought he was super funny and great to watch. I also liked the added layer of a love interest for Ethan. The first two films are what they are when it comes to romance, but this one felt authentic and enjoyable.

Not the worst, but not the best film ever. On to the next!
